I'd like to see you just one more time
I give or take an inch or two, now what's the crime?
The dogs tore into him until
There was nothing left except what was left
I imagine that's not much

I'd like to be your cathedral
To feel all the people
Swelling inside me
I'd like to be your cathedral
To feel all the people
Maybe the time isn't right
Maybe the time isn't right
Maybe the time isn't right

She ripped it open with a plastic knife
I'd been waiting for something like that for all my life
You push your buttons, lock your doors
Your velvet screens they don't love anymore
It's the way that you see it
It's what you see

I'd like to be your cathedral
To feel all the people
Swelling inside me
I'd like to be your cathedral
To feel all the people
Maybe the time isn't right
Maybe the time isn't right

They beat her black and blue
They would have done me to
If I'd a stuck around
I'm a stranger in this town

They beat her black and blue
They would have done me to
If I'd a stuck around
I'm a stranger in this town

I'd like...
They beat her black and blue
To be your cathedral...
They would have done me to
To feel all the people...
If I'd a stuck around
Maybe the time isn't right
Maybe the time isn't right

    My Interpretation

I think the song is about like a corrupted cult leader or holy man.

The first verse is about how someone confided in him about some crime he committed and he how he turns the man in gaining all the love of everyone without caring what happens to the man... he's becoming a cathedral that everyone worships. But maybe the time isn't right to proclaim himself as a god or prophet.

The second verse is about a suicidal girl that he comforts. He takes advantage of her and gets her paranoid about everything and faithful only to him, gaining her love and the love of everyone again for taking in such a damaged girl. Still the time isn't right to proclaim himself as a god.

The last verse is how he started having relations with a girl... maybe an affair.. but they got caught. They punished her while he ran away to a new town where no one knew him... and started all over again.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
