A friend of mine thinks this is about Jade, but I'm not sure. If it is about him it's in a very obscure way. Just because Jade is a precious stone doesn't mean it's the precious stone in this song. There is too much animosity and bleakness in these lyrics to feel like this is about the man Davey probably spends more time with than anyone else.
I'm almost positive this song is about Davey's ex, Brittany. They split in late 2011 and she got married in 2013. She absolutely scorned Davey. I don't think he's even been in a serious relationship since he was with her. I remember him tweeting something along the lines of "Happy Mother's Day to the only woman I'll ever trust or love" back in 2012. He was so bitter and I have a feeling he still is to this day. Poor baby.
