I wanna be your superstar and make it all okay
I wanna be the one to make you laugh, not make you cry
I'll be the one who'll kill your dragon
And save you from the people who take you away

I wanna drive in your Mario Kart and spin in it all day
I'll be the Link to your Zelda
Geek out the Hyrule kids with my Portal cannon
And shoot the ceilings so I fall in your arms
In a physically gentle way

I don't care, what they say
You are cooler than a Rockstar game
I just hope you'll feel the same

I wanna be on your leaderboards
And tie with your gamerscore
Be the Jim to your Kerrigan
Except not kill you
Because you would hate me
And then I realise that you have no idea
What the hell these names all mean

You say you want to play a game
I guess I'll play your games
But not the one with the angry avians
I don't play that
Because it is silly
But still you make me
So I sigh and I say we'll play it another day

I don't care what you say -
but that Farmville is not a game
I just hope you feel the same

I wanna be your superstar and make it all okay
I wanna be the one to make you laugh, not make you cry
At least I know that someday maybe
You will work your way up to Plants vs Zombies, yeah

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
