I don't want to leave my heart in your hands
Out on the frozen ocean.
'Cause I'm full of wine and song tonight
And it feels all right.
I don't know where to go
I just want to hit it hard before its too late.
Running from anyone
Who could properly dismiss this terrible bliss.

Secret charmer, suit of armor:
The wings are melting through.
Squeamish voyeur, sick destroyer.
(Shaking down, breaking ground.)

(Getting better all the time.)
(Pull the words right out of my mouth.)

I'm shedding my skin, I'm spreading my wings
All with the best intentions.
I'm younger today than yesterday;
Heaven and hell can wait.
Take it all out of me
I just want to make it count. Its getting late.
Then the sun's going to come
Let it shine on someone else. My armor deflates.

Secret charmer, suit of armor:
Live it up tonight.
Squeamish voyeur, sick destroyer.
(Shaking down, hit the ground.)

(Secret charmer, suit of armor.)
(Pull the words right out of my mouth.)

I know you better
Better than ever.
So when I look into your eyes tonight
I'll see them burning.
The tide is turning
I know that everything will change.

Secret charmer, suit of armor:
The wings are melting through.
Squeamish voyeur, sick destroyer
Can you hear me calling you?
Secret charmer, suit of armor:
Live it up tonight.
Squeamish voyeur, sick destroyer.
(Shaking down, hit the ground.)

    This song is TOO GOOD!

    My Interpretation

I feel that this song is about someone that got out of a relationship with someone, and they decided to go out on the town with a few friends and "hit it hard". While he gets drunk and parties, trying to forget about her, he still thinks about her. He tries to find anyone who can make him forget about her, but it is all for naut. He goes throughout the song from feeling on top of the world to a slave to his love for her. The song ends a tad more ambiguous than the rest of the song though. he says he knows her better but this can infer that he either knows that she treated him badly or he knows how to win her back. The "everything will change" line can refer to either the two having a better relationship or that they will go their separate ways in the world.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
