I feel that this song is about someone that got out of a relationship with someone, and they decided to go out on the town with a few friends and "hit it hard". He goes throughout the song from feeling on top of the world to a slave to his love for her. The song ends a tad more ambiguous than the rest of the song though. he says he knows her better but this can infer that he either knows that she treated him badly or he knows how to win her back.
