Don't want to be annoying but verse 5 is sung by Lelouch as he had commanded Euphemia to do what she did using the geass, therefore becoming her puppet master. He "stood and watched in horror" because he hadn't wanted that to actually happen :)

I know this is about the anime but I think this song is also about a revolutionary who lost someone and now is considering giving up
