No one else in the band seemed to be into it besides me and I started to work on it right away. The demo had a real electronic feel and it was so different. it feels like the person he cared about is depressed to me. when he says bring them back to "life" it doesn't seem like he means literally bring them back from the dead. but you know how it goes with depression, so i think that's what he means. "it's impossible to know what you need when you seem so emotionless" really gives off that vibe as well. maybe that's just me but it's what i take from this song, could also be about someone addicted to drugs so they are like really far gone and all, but i feel more like the whole dead inside via depression seems a better fit

From my perspective, it sounds like Anthony's friend committed suicide in the beginning of the song. "Ruptured the seal in the wall" meaning the bullet, that "time cannot repair." The rest of the song seems to be a reflection on the events leading up to his friends' suicide. "So emotionless" I interpret as his friend being dead, "What'll bring you back to life?" A strong statement, the machine reference I don't get unless it's the machines in the hospital. The whole stanza with "Your stories never end, our time is now suspended..." seems like a reflection, like I previously said, before his friend committed suicide. Circa Survive, folks (Stay alive).
