I think this song is simply about growing up and losing your innocence.

Children are often scared of things like the dark and "monsters" under their bed or in their closet. But when you grow up you realize why those fears are just in your head and there is no logical basis for those kinds of fears. And life goes on.

Not too sure on this one but I think it's about just moving on and taking care of responsibilities no matter what you're feeling-depressed, tired, etc. When you're young you have no huge responsibilities because usually an adult will take care of it or something.

For the 'world keeps turning and the sun keeps burning" it means something scientifically. for my earth and space class we need to figure out the two word answer to that phrase above. but everything i can think of just doesnt fit.
