The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
Hey! Remember me,
We've got a date with destiny
We?re falling down my human rays
We?re searching for amazing grace
When the cup is half empty
Make it half full
There's an underground river
Shaping us all
[Chorus]
Step by step
Hour by hour
What we've got is a woman?s power
Day by day
Believe in you
In what you want and what you do
It's the strength of a woman
It's the strength of a woman
It's the strength of a woman
Hey girl, I remember you
You're not alone cause I feel it too
Been searching high for a better man
But he won't save you, only you can
We're running out of heroes
Good guys, I find
Mister perfect wonderful is
Not on my mind
[Chorus]
It's the strength of a woman
So come on (come on)
Speak out (speak out)
Be strong (be strong)
No doubt (no doubt)
Cause, we free (we free)
We hope (we hope)
We run (we run)
[Chorus: x2]
It's the strength of a woman [Repeat: x5]
We've got a date with destiny
We?re falling down my human rays
We?re searching for amazing grace
When the cup is half empty
Make it half full

Shaping us all

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
