The Real Her Lyrics
[Verse 1]
People around you should really have nothing to say
Me I'm just proud of the fact that you've done it your way
And the weekends here started it right,
Even if you only get part of it right
Live for today
Plan for tomorrow,
Party tonight party tonight
Dying to meet your girlfriends that you said you might bring
If they're the ones that tell you that you do the right thing
[Bridge]
Houston girls love the way it goes down
Atlanta girls love the way it goes down
Vegas girls love the way it goes down
[Chorus]
But I gotta say oh, baby, oh baby, why is this so familiar?
Just met her already feel like I know the real her
You musta done this before
This can't be your first time
We musta been here before
It's still fresh on my mind
You got that shit that somebody would look for but won't find
You musta done this before this can't be your first time
[Verse 2]
They keep telling me don't save you
If I ignore all that advice
And something isn't right then who will I complain to?
But the weekend's here
Started it right, even if I only get part of it right
Live for today, plan for tomorrow
Party tonight party tonight
You got your guards up, I do too
There's things we might discover,
Cause you got a past and I do too,
We're perfect for each other
[Bridge]
Houston girls love the way it goes down
Atlanta girls love the way it goes down
Vegas girls love the way it goes down
[Chorus]
But I gotta say oh, baby, oh baby, why is this so familiar?
Just met her already feel like I know the real her

[Verse 3: Lil Wayne]
Cause to her I'm just a rapper and soon she'll have met another
So if tonight's an accident tomorrow we'll recover
And I know I'm not supposed to judge a book by its cover
I don't wanna be in the blind but sometimes I Stevie Wonder
About her and she with it if I'm with it, and I'm with it
I know what makes her smile
But I won't know what makes her different
Or should I just be realistic?
Lipstick on the glass
I know this ain't your first
But it's better than your last
[Chorus]
But I gotta say oh, baby, oh baby, why is this so familiar?
Just met her already feel like I know the real her
You musta done this before

Housatlantavegas is about a stripper

From The Zone with The Weeknd: "Woah, all these broken hearts on that pole Man if pole dancing's an art you know how many fuckin’ artists I know?" ^ what do you think hes talking about in this song lol? but i put that line to prove hes bragging about all the strippers he knows..
In Miss Me: "Someone tell Maliah I’m on fire she should work tonight Call her King of Diamonds and tell China it’d be worth the flight I’ll be at my table stacking dollar’s to the perfect height" ^Why would he stack dollars? To throw ones in the air like in Housatlantavegas.
What other line was taken from Miss Me thats right after that one ^ ?
"She just tryna make it so she right here gettin naked I don’t judge her, I don’t judge her But I could never love her cause to her I’m just a rapper And soon she’ll have met another"
How does Wayne start off his verse? "Cause to her I'm just a rapper and soon she'll have met another"
They're making connections from stripper songs into this one..
it looks like a love/baby making song.. but i think all Drake is really saying is he's looking for love in a strip club to "save" a stripper from her stripper life, and if she tells him shes never done something hes not going to believe it because she does it for a living.. hes been in so many strip clubs though and is starting to realize a lot of strippers are the same and want the same thing, hence he feels like he already knows the "real her".
Waynes verse is about him contemplating if he could ever find love in a strip club
"And I know I'm not supposed to judge a book by its cover I don't wanna be in the blind but sometimes I Stevie Wonder About her and she with it if I'm with it, and I'm with it I know what makes her smile But I won't know what makes her different"
"The real her" = "strippers are all the same", cuz if you feel like you know her w.o knowing her based off exp. then technically theyre pretty fuckin identical.. right?
Wayne recognizes this, and he knows what turns the strippers on but he won't know "what makes her different" because theres no depth. He accepts it, and bangs her.. lol
and the shit somebody would look for but wont find line is prob referring to either her
>
because if you can be confident in the prescence of a "star", which is not something they see everyday by someone they dont know, then you are different.
my b if its long but thats how i realized it lol, Drake has depth but hes not as deep as you think..
or maybe hes not using all his potential.. idk but its about a stripper
i didnt dig this shit up either i just listen to a lot of Drake so by now its easy to make connections like I did..
but i can still listen to this song and i'm able to relate it to myself personally too and ignore the true meaning, which is part of the reason i listen to it

i mean its a good song
i mean its a good song
but i also like to be conscious of what the true message is of what i'm being told, because theres a lot of shit out there with double meanings that are right under our noses.. like this

What makes her(the stripper) smile is the $$.
"You got that shit that somebody would look for but won't find" probably means people look at her beauty and falls in love, but probably would never have that kind of love/attachment being returned because she's a stripper/whatever that only works for the money.
Drake knows the meaning but he written this song so well that anyone could relate to it and apply to a relationship or something within that nature. I think this song is a part 2 of his "fall for your type/same mistake" song, listen to it.
Verse 1 There's always gonna be a 3rd voice or person in a relationship.
The Bridge is very interesting,"Vegas girls loves the way it goes down" now I could be wrong, but I think he is sort of applying that to the first verse, sort of labeling the people around her.
The Chorus Everything that is happening right now looks familiar to Drake, like the most simple and smallest things remind him of her. He starts to notice her tendencies and actions. It's ironic and is playing out in his eyes making it seem like she has been in this situation and has done this before. Also a reference to his older song, "Find your love."
Verse 2 Drake explains his perspective of what happened in the past and why they ended the way they did. He gives implications on references to his older song, Fall for your type/same mistakes, listen to it. During that time, he was skeptical about their whole situation and didn't know who to listen to even himself. Evidently, who was he gonna complain to? It was to her and he regrets how it all played out and is clarifying things up.
Verse 3 is explaining a lot about Verse 3 and the whole fall for your type ordeal, there's no trust or mis communication and agree to disagree situations. I'm guessing that he still has some sort of feelings for her and wants her back.
Just my interpretation on it, i could be wrong
Verse 3 is explaing a lot about verse 2* I mean

i believe Drake meant for this song to have multiple meanings. For the best songs ever made do the same thing. This is why Drake and Kid CuDi are the only two rappers i listen to. I believe that the title says a lot within itself and with the song obviously being about a stripper it creates the perfect combo of a prostitute who's job is to be kind to her paying customers and an ignorant man(Drake) who thinks what he is feeling is true when meanwhile to the prostitute this is just another night on the job. However the prostitute is so good on the job that she seems to good to be true. and she is so good at what she does because she has "done this before". But i believe at some point (i think in the chorus or verse #2) the tables turn because the prostitute actually fell in love with Drake. But Drake, now aware of the reality in front of him, faces a question of whether any of it was real or if she was just playing him the whole time. And i think that question is never answered in the song. I think Drake did that for a reason allowing a more broad interpretation/connection of the song.
me personally i just think of fake bitches who i thought we're real and wanted so bad for them to be the people i thought they were. definitely one of my favorite songs from Drake. so far ;)
Quite brilliant. I (honestly) wasn't sure he was talking about a stripper but this was probably due to my misunderstanding of the cultural references within the song or "americanisims" that rappers use that sometimes keep us non-american rap fans in the dark. Thanks.

any thoughts on andre 3000 or lil wayne's importance? im thinking it has something to do with other peoples point of view of people in the strip club.
I LOVE how Drake is able to express his emotions on a song, the mood and how everything is carried out is absolute Genius.
