It may not mean nothin' to y'all
But understand nothing was done for me
So I don't plan on stoppin' at all
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane
I'm shuttin' shit down in the mall
And tellin' every girl she the one for me
And I ain't even plannin' to call
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane

Last name Ever, first name Greatest
Like a sprained ankle, boy, I ain't nothin' to play with
Started off local, but thanks to all the haters
I know G-IV pilots on a first name basis
In your city faded off the brown, Nino
She insists she got more class, we know
Swimmin' in the money come and find me, Nemo
If I was at the club you know I balled, chemo
Dropped the mixtape, that shit sounded like an album
Who'd have thought a country wide tour'd be the outcome?
Labels want my name beside a X, like Malcolm
Everybody got a deal, I did it without one
Yeah, nigga, I'm about my business
Killin' all these rappers, you would swear I had a hit list
Everyone who doubted me is askin' for forgiveness
If you ain't been a part of it, at least you got to witness
Bitches

It may not mean nothin' to y'all
But understand nothing was done for me
So I don't plan on stoppin' at all
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane
I'm shuttin' shit down in the mall
And tellin' every girl she the one for me
And I ain't even plannin' to call
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane

Ever-ever, Mr. West is in the building
Ain't no question who about to kill 'em
I used to have hood dreams, big fame, big chains
I stuck my dick inside this life until that bitch came
I went hard all fall like the ball teams
Just so I can make it rain all spring
Y'all seen my story, my glory
I had raped the game young, you can call it statutory
When a nigga blow up they gon' build statutes for me
Old money, Benjamin Button, "What?" nothin'
Now it's super bad chicks givin' me McLovin
You would think I ran the world like Michelle's husband
You would think these niggas know me when they really doesn't
Like they was down with the old me, no you fuckin' wasn't
Um, you're such a fuckin' loser
He ain't even go to class, Bueller
Trade the Grammy plaques just to have my granny back
'Member she had that bad hip like a fanny pack?
Chasin' the stardom would turn you to a maniac
All the way in Hollywood and I can't even act
They pull their cameras out and goddamn, he snap
I used to want this thing forever, y'all can have it back

It may not mean nothin' to y'all
But understand nothing was done for me
So I don't plan on stoppin' at all
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane
I'm shuttin' shit down in the mall
And tellin' every girl she the one for me
And I ain't even plannin' to call
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane

Okay, hello, it's the Martian, Space Jam Jordans
I want this shit forever, wake up and smell the garden
Fresher than the harvest, step up to the target
If I had one guess, then I guess I'm just New Orleans
And I will never stop like I'm runnin' from the cops
Hopped up in my car and told my chauffeur, "To the top"
Life is such a fuckin' roller coaster then it drops
But what should I scream for? This is my theme park
My minds shine even when my thoughts seem dark
Pistol on my side, you don't wanna hear that thing talk
Let the king talk, check the price and pay attention
Lil Wayne, that's what they gotta say or mention
I'm like Nevada in the middle of the summer
I'm restin' in the lead, I need a pillow and a cover
Shh, my foot's sleepin' on the gas
No brake pads, no such thing as last, uh

It may not mean nothin' to y'all
But understand nothing was done for me
So I don't plan on stoppin' at all
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane
I'm shuttin' shit down in the mall
And tellin' every girl she the one for me
And I ain't even plannin' to call
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane

There they go, packin' stadiums as Shady spits his flow
Nuts they go, Macadamian, they go so ballistic, whoa
He can make them look like bozos
He's wonderin' if he should spit this slow
Fuck no, go for broke, his cup just runneth over, oh no
He ain't had him a buzz like this since the last time that he overdosed
They've been waitin' patiently for Pinocchio to poke his nose
Back into the game and they know
Rap will never be the same as befo'
Bashin' in the brains of these hoes
And establishin' a name as he goes
The passion and the flame is ignited
You can't put it out once we light it
This shit is exactly what the fuck I'm talkin' about when we riot
You dealin' with a few true villains
Who stand inside of the booth, truth spillin'
And spit true feelings
Until our tooth fillings come flyin' up out of our mouths, now rewind it
Payback, motherfucker for the way that you doubted me, how's it taste?
When I slap the taste out your mouth
With the bass so loud that it shakes the place
I'm Hannibal Lecter, so just in case you're thinkin' of savin' face
You ain't gonna have no face to save
By the time I'm through with this place, so Drake

It may not mean nothin' to y'all
But understand nothing was done for me
So I don't plan on stoppin' at all
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane
I'm shuttin' shit down in the mall
And tellin' every girl she the one for me
And I ain't even plannin' to call
I want this shit forever, mane, ever, mane, ever, mane

    My Interpretation

It may not mean nothing to yall But understand nothing was done for me So I dont plan on stopping at all I want this shit forever man, ever man, ever man Im shutting shit down at the mall And telling every girl she the one for me And I aint even planning to call I want this shit forever man, ever man, ever man, ever man

On a personal level, i kind of like the chorus. It's very motivating and uplifting. It reinforces ones relentless drive to be successful, despite never really getting any breaks. Carrying one's own weight, and having their painstaking work speak for itself. While i must say - Drake is still developing as an artist; but being on this track with three multi-platinum artists is no small feat. It is recognition and acknowledgment by the industries great - That Drake is here to stick around.

[Drake] Last name ever First name greatest Like a sprained ankle boy I aint nothing to play with Started off local but thanks to all the haters I know G4 pilots on a first name basis In your city faded off the brown, Nino She insists she got more class, we know Swimming in the money come and find me, Nemo If I was at the club you know I ball, chemo Drop the mixtape that shit sounded like a album Who'da thought a country wide tour'd be the outcome Labels want my name beside the X like Malcolm Everybody got a deal, I did it without one Yeah nigga Im about my business Killing all these rappers you would swear I had a hit list Everyone who doubted me is asking for forgiveness If you aint been a part of it at least you got to witness Bitches

faded of the brown, refers to Heroin use...but this verse is very unique in the sense that Drake is doing a lot lyrically. He uses "brown" to refer to a drug, but then, follows up with Nino. Mimicking his early construction of of "last name ever" "first name greatest". He does the same, with "brown, Nino". [Nino Brown (Played by Wesley Snipes) is the main character in the film New Jack City. Nino is the head of the Cash Money Brothers or (CMB) which is a crack dealing network based in Harlem. - Urban dictionary]

"Swimming in the money come and find me, Nemo" -- I feel this verse sets up Kayne's stanza.

The next few verses by Drake, are about his success, and how he has risen from mixtapes, and not taking other peoples deconstructive criticism seriously.

Now Drake's stanza, starts to diminish on content and value as soon as he starts narrating his success. Lyrically, this "success theme" is so cliche that it is beyond pastiche (blank parody [imitation]).This is very atypical of hip-hop/rap artists. I personally don't give two turds of reason, to hear about how an artist has came into the scene. I don't want to hear it in my music, i can look it up on wikipedia. Yet, i don't condone the chorus, because its secular enough to be uplifting rather than cliched narration.

Also, the way Drake says "bitches" (at the end), sounds off rhythm. He shouldn't have enunciated as slow a two syllable word, but rather more nonchalantly.

    Chorus]

[Kanye West] I used to have hood dreams Big fame, big chains I stuck my dick inside this life until that bitch came I went hard all fall like the ball teams Just so I can make it rain all spring Yall seen my story my glory I had raped the game young You can call it statutory When a nigga blow up they gon build statures of me Old money Benjamin Button, whaat, nuttin Now superbad chicks giving me McLovin You would think I ran the world like Michelles husband You would think these niggas would know me when they really doesnt Like they was down with the old me no you fucking wasnt Youre such a fucking loser He didnt even go to class Bueller Trade the Grammy plaques just to have my granny back Remember she had that bad hip like a fanny pack Chasing the stardom will turn you into a maniac All the way in Hollywood and I cant even act They pull their cameras out and God damn they snap I used to want this thing forever yall can have it back

He personifies, life as intercourse with a woman, that he constantly is "fulfilling".

West, tends to exploit excessive metaphors and similes, creating very visual verses that have very gruesome and jarring connotations. aka "statutory rape"

He makes a cinematic pop cultural reference the film "superbad" - Contextually, this very primitive verse detracts from Kayne's grandeur (not that he has much). Hearing this line, just brings the emphatic value of his stanza down significantly. I feel though, people that are easy to amuse, and unable to differentiate good music, from "epic" music, will easily be amused and relish in being able to recognize the reference. Trust me - It's "superbad".

"You would think I ran the world like Michelles husband You would think these niggas would know me when they really doesnt"

He makes a reference to President Obama, via "Michelle's Husband". The following few line subtly diss the president, and all the critic's and "haters". Repetitively, emphasizing that they don't "know him". ---- WHATEVER the fu*k is that suppose to mean? I don't think Kayne even knows himself, yet alone do i want hear about him "humbling his ways". Hasn't he been trying to be humble, ever since he made it onto the scene? Kayne just needs to find a bitch (maybe a wife) that will put him in his place. haha.

"Trade the Grammy plaques just to have my granny back." You probably didn't feel that way, when you were trying to get one. And what's the significance of trading a plaque for someones life back. It's just a weak verse. Materialistic does not equate humanistic. I know that Kayne is trying to say that he'd trade his success and fame, for his grandmother back; but i don't buy it, it's just weak.

Initially Kayne sounds "normal" however as the stanza progresses, his voice, tone, and attitude becomes disgruntled and raspy. It's like he's in bitter agony, almost being "emo".

If Kayne doesn't f*ck up for one year; i'd give him my granmy.

    [Chorus]

[Lil Wayne] Ok, hello it's da Martian Space jam Jordans I want this shit forever wake up and smell the garden Fresher than the harvest Step up to the target If I had one guess than I guess Im just New Orleans And I will never stop like Im running from the cops Hop up in my car and told my chauffeur to the top Life is such a fucking roller coaster then it drops But what should I scream for this is my theme park My minds shine even when my thoughts seem dark Pistol on my side you dont wanna hear that thing talk Let the king talk check the price and pay attention Lil Wayne thats what they got to say or mention Im like Nevada in the middle of the summer Im resting in the lead I need a pillow and a cover Shhh, my foots sleeping on the gas No brake pads, no such thing as last

Lil wayne, talking about Martians, will not get you abducted.

    (More to come)

    [Chorus]

[Eminem] There they go, back in stadiums as Shady spits his flow Nuts they go, macadamian they go so ballistic, whoa We can make them look like Bozos He's wondering if he should spit this slow Fuck no! Go for broke His cup just runneth over, oh no He aint had a real buzz like this since the last time that he overdosed Theyve been waiting patiently for Pinocchio to poke his nose Back into the game and they know Rap will never be the same as before Bashing in the brains of these hoes And establishing a name as he goes The passion and the flame is ignited You cant put it out once we light it This shit is exactly what the fuck that Im talking about when we riot You dealin with a few true villains Whose stand inside of the booth truth spillin And spit true feelings, until our tooth fillings come flying up out of our mouths Now rewind it! Payback muthafucka for the way that you got at me hows it taste? When I slap the taste out your mouth with the bass so loud that it shakes the place Im Hannibal Lecter so just in case youre thinking of saving face You aint gonna have no face to save by the time I'm through with this place So Drake

I don't even know where to begin. Eminem, makes a Koenigsegg look like a joke.

    [Chorus]

I think that the point of this song is that Drake is new to the "game" (rapping) so he;s going to take full advantage of it while the other guys are more experienced and they know it's not all fun and games so they are trying to tell Drake that it's not everything everyone says it is but he doesn't want to listen because no one's done anything to him yet so why does he care. Love the song and this is just what I think is the meaning. I have to agree with many in that Eminem was amazing but I think everyone else was amazing too I have to say I'm biased I loved Lil' Wayne.

You may find this far fetched if you don't listen closely, but I honestly think that is the sickest verse Eminem has ever done. Maybe not the favorite, surely not the most popular, but my spine tingles every time I listen to it. Try keeping up with him, it's simply mind blowing...

    My Opinion

People are too biased towards eminem because he's the biggest star? I mean, of course he's brilliant but he doesn't "kill" kanye and Wayne, they are fantastic and hold their own up. This song has the three rappers that saved rap, the best ones around atm in fact. Thank GOD eminem is back!!! And lil'Wayne's gonna be outta prison soon!!!

All the rappers are telling us how stardom has changed them and their lives, Drake starts of by saying how hard he has worked to make his dream a realalty. He says how his life is different and how he is enjoying it. Kayne then takes the next verse by saying how he has lost contact will all his old friends and rarely gets to see his granny...he pretty much says how he wants his old life back and wish he never became famous. Lil wayne is on the same lines as drake. He likes his new life and makes a heap of medafore... his verse in the song is not the best..however it is okay. Eminem as usual delivered a great rap...he was saying that the other rappers and nothing compared to him...he is the 'REAL DEAL'. this song is about to be certain about what to want in life and to becareful what you wish for

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Led Zeppelin
This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
