Papa smoked that pipe and drank
That single malt scotch
In his big brown leather chair
He said, "Son, I know you cheat
Just don't get caught
Whenever you take a lover
You get wise right from the start
Because I know you steal
But don't steal a lady's heart
And good you can never harm
They're going to stay with you
From the altar to the rock-a-bye
Little baby on the treetop"
He says, "Sonny, don't get caught"

"If love whispers in your blood, son
You've never known such a drunk
Gamble with love, better know how to bluff
Or your bopping' off days will be done
Keep a secret up your sleeve
Your deceit in your sock
Son, I know you're no good
Just don't get caught"

And I pulled up to that big red house
Where papa played cards
Where he'd sing his drunken songs
Once I came of age, he was gone, baby, gone
He used to take me to the lake
When mama was out to church
He'd say, "Look at all the lovely birds
The nape, the breast, the flank, the fur"

So I rapped upon his door, knock, knock, knock!
Papa I've squashed, I got an anvil for a heart
And enough secrets to flood Fort Knox
I got a wise glass full of scottish too
I've been known to take a puff or two
But papa, do I got to be just like you?
All these secrets and lies, it's no way to live
It's sure as hell no way to die

Are you going to take them to the grave
Or pawn them off on your only son
To carry the weight, the weight, the weight
The weight, the weight, you always told me
"Sonny, don't get caught"

Them secrets stay under your skin
Like maggots they'll eat you alive
When I want out, don't you give in
Take a big swig and swallow them lies
Once you die on the inside
The world is yours to hunt

"Son, I know you're no good, just don't get caught"
No, no, no, no
He'd say, "Son, I know you're no good, just don't get caught"
No, no, no, no
He'd say, "Sonny, I know you're no good, just don't get caught"
No, no, no, no
He'd say, "Son, I know you're no good, just don't get caught"
No, no, no, no
He'd say, "Sonny, I know you're no good"

How are there no comments on this? This song is absolutely phenomenal, probably Kasher's best solo effort, and that's saying a lot.

Maybe because the lyrics are wrong ...

""If love whispers in your blood, son You've never known such a drunk Gamble with love, better know how to bluff Or your bopping' off days will be done" Is wrong ... It's: "If love lets loose in your blood, son You've never known such a drunk Gamble with love, better know how to bluff Or your bacchanal days will be done"

If you listen to Cursive, Tim makes reference to Dionysus ... the greek version of the Roman "Bacchus" ... Same god ... Bacchanal is a reference to this. Learn something.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there.
