As I look through the old store window,
at the off white color wedding dress.
How can white pearls and lace stitched together,
create such a perfect mess?

Sunny days always bring me to you,
on a drive down the back road, to the lake.
Where we spent that whole summer being lovers...
Spending every moment of the night time together,
and every morning falling(?) in the lake(?)...

You see, I used to be your sunshine,
now I'm just the rain...
A dreamer's living proof, I can't take the pain
I fight all night, but I lose just the same...
Hoping there's a chance you'll be...
Heading back this lonely old street.

Take all the time that you need...
I know you're busy taking care of yourself.
And baby I'm still the man you remember,
I still do everything I used to, and everything I can do,
to keep from going crazy now a days.

You see, I used to be your sunshine,
now I'm just the rain...
A dreamer's living proof, I can't take the pain
I fight all night, and I lose just the same...
Hoping there's a chance you'll be,
heading back this lonely old street.

Hey!......

Oh, oh I used to be your sunshine,
now I'm just the rain...
A dreamer's living proof, I can't take the pain
oh, I fight all night, and I lose just the same...
Hoping there's a chance you'll be,
heading back down this lonely old street...
heading back down my lonely street...

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
