The Circle Married The Line

This one is pretty self explanatory. The circle and the line represent people that are in a relationship and are two complete opposites. The relationship is floundering and she's asking for some kind of sign to show them where to go next. She's expecting them to break up, looking for a horizon line, because they are clearly having troubles as just him being near her makes her feel like crying and she's looking for a way out.

My impression is that the title is referring to a rising or setting sun. First light, last light, when the circle married the line is when the sun is on the horizon. Its about getting away to that place where you can clear your head and see where things begin and where they end.

I love it because there are so many meanings (and I think they are all meant to be there) First the circle and line representing two people who are quite different. I would think of the line as a rigid male character and the circle is a more flexible female. But then also: Second I thought it might be referring to sex (think about it....) Feist often has references to sex and it would be cute to be saying everything is alright when it's morning or evening and we have sex. Third I realised the whole sun setting/rising on the horizon thing.

Basically she's on some sort of sea-side sojourn and 'following signs', she takes the sign of the circle meeting the line on the horizon, as meaning that she and her lover are meant to be together despite their differences.

I think the second line is: Living in the past begins the ending first

The third paragraph is super hard to hear anything. No idea what an amenity ring could be. I thought that line was: Even from the way you still me Making it a many tearing or Even from the way you steal me Making me abandon it, tearing

And then later I get: In a room sleeping so peacefully Far away from them do be less- (than we?)

I agree with clairemo. To expand, I think the circle represents an individual who is closed in some way and the line is an open individual.

In the science fiction novella, "Flatland," the inhabitants of a 2-dimmensional world are geometric shapes. It has been popular among mathematicians and scientists since it was written in 1884. In this work men are various kinds of squares, triangles and circles. Circles are an enlightend arstocracy.

Women are lines and are dangerous as they can stab men when they walk head-on into them accidentaly or on purpose.

Just curious as to what "less than lee" means. Any ideas? It's an odd/off statement.
