At a concert before performing this song she talked about how it sucks to meet someone you think is great only to find out they're really a tool, and she said it especially sucks when they're a musician you always looked up to, and how you don't want to believe they're a tool after they've made such great music
i take that line as "right your book of wrongs" like a play on words which is so powerful because you know how they say its never too late to right a wrong? she says i wonder will there ever be enough time to right all the wrongs you've ever done.
anyway, thats just my interpretation. amazing song. i feel it every time i hear it.
It's about how a genius can be ravaged and disturbed inside although he/she might not always show it, living a tragicomedy story which he/she can't avoid. It's amazing how a genius can make beautiful things and still be so broken inside always leaving a "trail of disaster". That's my personal interpretation. This is my favorite track of Tiger Suit, the piano near the end of the song is great. I really hope she comes to Brazil
I think this song is about a guy that can't seem to settle. He is going from girlfriend to girlfriend, 'Following your lust, leaving a trail of disaster'. He is completely convinced this is not his fault, but the girls', or women in general and he likes to talk about this and make jokes about it (writing your book of wrongs and delight us like a bachelor). Nevertheless, he goes on starting relationships, 'Try to believe that there's something to stay for' 'but there's always before and after': there will always come an end to that relationship, for the entertainer. That's what they mean to me and I love these lyrics so much..
