Another Place To Fall Lyrics

Are you blind
Blind to me trying to be kind?
Volunteering for your firing line
Waiting for one precious sign
The flicker of a smile
You should try it just once in a while
It's simply too easy to do
And you might not see it through
See it through

Find yourself another place to fall
Find yourself up against another brick wall
See yourself as a fallen angel
Well I don't see no holes in the road but you
Find another place to fall

Are you proud?
To have founded a brand new behavior
With hatred and hurt as your savior
But nobody's choosing to follow
So you choke back the tears and you swallow
Men who have ruined your life
You consume them with minimum strife
But now you have got indigestion
The antacid comes as a question

Find yourself another place to fall
Find yourself up against another brick wall
See yourself as a fallen angel
Well I don't see no holes in the road but you
Find another place to fall

There isn't much more I can say
For I don't understand the delay
You're asking for friendly advice
And remaining in permanent crisis
Affection is yours if you ask
But first you must take off your mask
When your backs turned, I've decided
I'll throw it away just like I did

Find yourself another place to fall
Find yourself up against another brick wall
See yourself as a fallen angel
Well I don't see no holes in the road but you
Find another place to fall

Well I don't see no holes in the road but you
Find another place to fall

Well I don't see no holes in the road but you
Find another place to fall

Well I don't see no holes in the road but you
Find another place to fall

This and Suddenly I See are my favourite songs on Eye to the Telescope. I think it's about someone she knows who keeps falling in love and has it turn out badly, and she's telling her to fall in love with someone better somewhere else. But even though 'There's no holes in the road' she keeps finding a way to make them happen. Jusy my interpretation=) xx

this is what I have always thought the meaning of the song was: (talking to a friend who is always complaining/ depressed)

Are you not seeing that I am trying to help you? I'm trying to cheer you up because you are complaining. I am waiting for you to show me that you are even wanting to feel better (a smile would be nice).

Find another place to complain & another problem to gripe about. You act like you are an innocent victim of everything. Go somewhere else to complain. Are you proud to be the leader of hatred and hurting?? Do you not see that no one wants to feel unhappy like you do? The problems you had before which you moved on from now still hurt you. But do you want to try and feel better??? I don't know what else to tell you to make you feel better. I don't understand why you can never feel good. If you ask for my advice and I tell you what I think you should do you do not listen. If you want me to lift your spirits then you must be open to feeling better. When you don't look I am trying to just forget all that you have told me because I don't want to be as negative as you.

I think it's supposed to be "Well I don't see no holes in the road But you find another place to fall."

I was hearing it the other way for a while, but then a few hours later I heard it differently. This way makes more sense to me, like she's telling this person that she can't see the problems but they are finding them all by themselves. I have a friend like that who asks for advice all the time but doesn't actually want to hear it.

there's another way to interpret this song--that kt tunstall is talking to herself. She can see herself falling and hurting but she just can manage to move on.

"when your back's turned, i've decided i'll throw it away just like i did"

watch the video too...she's talking to herself in it-like there's two versions of herself: depressed and normal. I love the part where she's stumbling down the blurred allay-cuz that's exactly what it feels like. Like you can't even see the end and then it finally clears and all the haze is gone...amazing song

I see this song in two different ways, one as more of a description than addressing someone, the chorus in particular. I think 'Find yourself another place to fall, find yourself up against another brick wall' is her friend or the subject of the song finding problems and places to set themselves back, but she can't see any problems at all. She's said all she can but the subject isn't paying any attention and continues to live in bleak depression.

Alternatively this song could be about her getting sick of the subject's constant misery and is telling them to find someone else to fall back on, despite the fact that no one else has been willing to listen to them ('nobody's choosing to follow')

I think this song is about KT's friend whos having a mental breakdown and he/she is having a bad attitude and making poor choices, the subliminal message the 2nd girl who was in the car looked drunk, and they are getting involved w/ the wrong ppl and screwing up their life.Thats my opinion on the song.

I think KT's singing as someone who tries to help a friend who's always feeling for herself, constantly depressed. But no matter how much she helps, her friend is almost determined to be depressed (like the current image of an 'emo' amongst the younger generation, myself included).

Because she gets fed up of her, KT tells her friend to "find another place to fall" (find someone else to talk to), because all she does is feel sorry for herself ("See yourself as a fallen angel").

Oops, more to say:

The first verse ("Are you blind Blind to me trying to be kind?") is KT asking if she's just ignoring her advice.

"I don't see no holes in the road but you" refers to that the only thing that stops her friend from cheering up is herself.

Yeah, its just about someone who would rather wallow in their self pity all the time and stay depressed than actually get off their arse and do something about it

Agreed to almost everything that's said...

And this reminds me a lot of Army of Me by Björk.

"Remaining in permanent crisis."
