Hey dear
I fear
I'll watch you disappear
I know
You'll go
Until you're Skin and Bones

Your reflection's all you're worth

[Chorus]
This time it's almost over
I watch you turn to dust
I know it's not much longer
Until you faint
Cause you'll never love yourself at all
Cause everything you touch will fall to pieces
This time it's almost over now

Wake up Skin and Bones (wake up)
Wake up Skin and Bones (wake up)

You're so alone
Your sickness feels like home
Find some control
Starve 'till you're beautiful

Your reflection's all you're worth

[Chorus]

Until you're skin and bones
Your sickness feels like home
(your sickness feels like)
Your sickness feels like
Home

[Chorus]

One of my ALL time favorite songs by Picture Me Broken. It's pretty obvious it's about anorexia. Someone is starving themselves, not loving who they are, and they'll eventually kill themselves chasing this beauty. It sounds like the narrator is more angry than sympathetic to the person, but its an amazing song either way.

To me, it's about Anorexia. First off, the title, "Skin & Bones". Anorexics are "Skin and bones". The line "Hey dear, I fear, I'll watch you disappear" refers to starving themselves down to nothing. The fact that she calls them "Dear" signifies that she knows them. "I know, you'll go, until you're skin and bones" basically means that the singer knows that the person who has the eating disorder is very determined to be "skinny". "Your reflection's all you're worth" means that the person with the eating disorder only measures their self-worth by what the mirror tells them. They don't think their personality is worth anything, especially if they're not skinny. "I know it's not much longer until you faint" - Anorexics have a tendency to black out or faint a lot, from starving themselves. "Cause you'll never love yourself at all" basically means that she's never skinny enough, and she feels like she needs to keep getting skinnier. "Cause everything you touch will fall to pieces" - that line can be interpreted a few ways, I'm sure, but to me, it's like the anorexia victim feels overweight and heavy, and feels as if she'd break anything she touched. "Wake up, Skin and Bones" - I think the singer is trying to tell this person to wake up and see what they're doing to themselves. (Of course, I think she's calling the person "Skin and bones" as a sort of name)"You're so alone" probably meaning that she's troubled, maybe somewhat a loner? I also know that sometimes people use Anorexia as a sort of punishment for themselves, so it may have something to do with that, but I can't be sure. "Your sickness feels like home" - The anorexic is so used to being that way, it feels like home to them. Like.. it would be uncomfortable to be normal. Almost as if they like how they're living. Hard to explain that part. "Find some control" meaning don't eat. Anorexics think that not eating gives them a way to control. "Starve til you're beautiful" meaning that they don't think they're beautiful, but they will be once they're skin and bones. "Pulse is fading.." - your heart beat slows after a while of not eating. You also feel cold, always. Well. That's my interpretation of the song. It's by no means the ONLY possible meaning, but just how I see it. Also, I agree with "A Queen Of Snow", it does sound like she's rather angry at this person for choosing that path, but if you listen close, it's as if she's mourning the loss of the person this Anorexia victim used to be.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
