Sweet Blasphemy Lyrics
Unveil the sacred order, hymns of falling down
You told the greatest stories, of love and bleeding crowns
But to the sick and hungry, you cannot be found
Through strength in self we become
Something more than they can be
I raise my heart and sing!
I know there's something more inside
Darkness is all you see
This is our Sweet Blasphemy
No time for allegory, one true reigning sound
Unite the lonely mourning, a simple servant now
We are the only glory, hear us screaming loud
I raise my heart and sing!
I know there's something more inside
Darkness is all you see
This is our Sweet Blasphemy
Through strength in self we become
Something more than they can be
This is our Sweet Blasphemy
I know there's something more inside
Darkness is all you see
This is our Sweet Blasphemy

in my opinion this song is pretty much about being above the crowd and really just being yourself
"We are young and we are strong Through strength in self we become Something more than they can be I raise my heart and sing!
That I wont believe this lie I know there's something more inside"

i agree with screamsBVB. this song really is a blasphemy...as me being raised in aan apostolic church , stuff they teach really is farfeched ..and i belive tht we are the true generation..and i dont DAMN ABOUT THE OTHER STUFF THEY PREACH!!!!........sorry;)

This song is about being an atheist, overall.
Sweet Blasphemy; the definition of Blasphemy is an act of cursing or reviling God.
"That I wont believe this lie I know there's something more inside Darkness is all you see This is our Sweet Blasphemy"
- He won't believe the lie of the supposed 'God', he knows theres more to it than that.
"Silence the crooked holy, unchain the tied and bound No time for allegory, one true reigning sound Unite the lonely mourning, a simple servant now We are the only glory, hear us screaming loud"
- Silence the people who are spreading the lies of 'God';
- Allegory is an abstract spiritual meaning or belief represented in concrete forms, such as the Bible.
- The people that are the true 'glory' are the ones that realize that there is no God.
Now, yes, this song could have a double meaning to it. The simple meaning with the lyrics "We are young and we are strong, through strength in self we become something more than they can be," can mean just be yourself and don't let anyone bring you down.
But I still think the real, deep meaning is what I explained before.
And YES; Andy Six is an atheist, and he writes the lyrics for the band.

@ScreamsBVB i understand what you mean, but andy said that he finds it really interesting how you can use religious facts as metaphors for our everyday lives and that that is how he tries to use those facts in their songs. yes, he's an atheist but he completely respects the people who believe in a god and i don't think he's one of those who tries to "in put" his ideas and beliefs on other people. but that's just my opinion, maybe it is about being an atheist! <3

This song is a beautiful song!!! It does have a strong religious touch though This song is basically about how we should just love who we are without anyone telling us what to do Say I went into a church looking like Andy the church would throw me out almost!! And the Christians would say CHANGE before you enter this home Well if god loves me for who I am why is he judging me like this huh!!
Excellent point!!
Excellent point!!
Religious people defy their own beliefs. They think they know what The Creator wants. If they think they can interpret what God wants then they are no different from "the devil". He thought he was God's equal just as religious fanatics think they are powerful enough to understand what God wants. Not that I believe in any of that but they contradict themselves. To me they are free to believe what they want and we wish they find what they looking for but they should not judge and persecute others because of what they believe. I have a...

I have a very religious friend and when I she's feeling down I remind her to read her bible, because I know that that is her truth, religion or faith is for yourself and nobody else, the only truth is self truth as long as it does hurt anyone else.

Really great song! I'm not part of the BVB army cause I have my own, but we love you guys!!!
People are tired of lies and foamy talkers like politicians and religious leaders, who talk talk talk but nobody benefits but themselves. Real changes will come from real people who suffer in the wake of others bad decisions.
all their lies, the pain and hurt they caused us has made us look at not the reflection in the mirror but our true self, and in that truth we have found true strength, true power, the power they they feared we'd have, and with that power and strength we create a better place where all are safe. "through strength in self we become more than they can be"

To JustinRomano especially......I am christian. I'm also part of the BVB army. I'm the bridge and it's really hard. The church that kicks you out for how you look might just be the craziest church ever. Yes every church is that way. EXCEPT for one. Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International. I love this church because no one judges. Guys with their bodies covered in tattoos and piercings walk in and are welcomed just like everyone else. We have been taught that God doesn't look at appearances...but our intentions. Of course nobody knows exactly what God wants. But we do what we think keeps us out of trouble. There was a woman who brought cigarettes to church and she would put them on a seat next to her. Nobody minded. Everyone greeted her kindly. Then again I don't read the bible. Its hard to stay focused, but I hate how everyone creates a certain image for religious people. I don't wear crosses or kneel for statues and images. I know there is a God out there but at the same time I'm loud and I love BVB but I don't let things get out of order. The religious stereotype needs to stop because we aren't fanatics. Most religious people are....but a large portion of us don't take things to the extreme. BVB FOREVER BTW I listen to the music and nothing I hear could change my love for God

I love this song!
