Infatuated with the ignorance we all pretend to ignore
With the time and preparation I could be a tyrant and ensure the downfall
I could easily entice you to kill everything that you love

Your system knows it all
No secrets kept within the walls
I have the plan to bring it all down to an end

How the fuck could anyone believe the truth
When the religious fools have endless prophecies
Bring it all down to an end
I find it amusing when you think it all makes sense
I have the solution
Bring it all down to an end

Now that I have control of you all
This situation is only getting worse

The darkest day of man is up on us all
You are all now reborn to serve your purpose well
The darkest day of man is upon us all
Now the world can rest in peace forever

The Darkest Day of Man - "This song is about how easily people are fooled and how gullible they are. People will believe almost everything they’re told. Trust yourself and believe what is true in your heart. These are our darkest days and we are letting it happen. This also portrays a tyrant taking advantage of that."

from the looks of this song, i don't think this album will hold it's own against This is Exile and The Somatic Defilement. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

woah beans. cant wait for the new album. YEAH! the song is about the devil telling us to,"entice you to kill everything that you love." I think it also relates to the apcolypse and him submitting the world into," the darkest day of man."

Anti-religious song about how religious differences will lead to an apocalyptic one-day war and the world will end.

The song is heavy as hell, typical of whitechapel. The video is interesting but I have to fast forward through some parts like when they inject a needle into the cartoon guy's eye, ugg. But other than that it's cool

This song refers to the so called rapture, the end of man. " I could easily entice you, to kill everything that you love" is basically saying that "Satan" or whoever the dark deity he is referring to, to do his evil bidding. "How the fuck could anyone believe the truth When the religious fools have endless prophecies" is basically saying there are so many prophecies to know the "Real" one is factious. The song is amazing Phil's voice is outstanding the whole entire album. Just thought i would throw in my 2 cents about what i thought it meant.

Interesting how this song is dubbed anti-religious, which it really isn't. Judging from Phil's other works and various interviews it seems to be more against hive-minding. People just accepting what they are told, and not examining it for themselves. Religious leaders are definitely guilty of leading people like that, but as Phil says, the song is also about a tyrant (king/political leader) taking advantage of people's gullible, unquestioning nature.

It's not about Satan at all.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
