Interesting how this song is dubbed anti-religious, which it really isn't. Judging from Phil's other works and various interviews it seems to be more against hive-minding. People just accepting what they are told, and not examining it for themselves. Religious leaders are definitely guilty of leading people like that, but as Phil says, the song is also about a tyrant (king/political leader) taking advantage of people's gullible, unquestioning nature.
