Fine Lyrics
Its gonna rain like this for days, Im gonna drown in my old ways
But Im Fine, Im Fine
Its gonna hurt like hell when you pull back the hammer and fire
But Im Fine, Im Fine
You see a storm locked up my superpower now I sleep through thunder showers
Wake me when you learn to be cool
If Im the captain of this boat then all my shipmates are fools
And all the stars in the world couldnt help me steer my way out of this kiddie pool
Im gonna wake up from this dream with nightmares lined up on my street
But Im Fine, Im Fine
Needed a hand to keep my head up so you put hooks in both my ears
But Im Fine, Im Fine
Yeah its a chronic pain in my ass but no its not a burden
Its ironic that I drink to make my insides stop hurting
And its a love that gives me heartburn
Its a song that makes my stomach turn
And I wouldnt trade my hand for all the aces in the deck
Cause Im Fine
Cause Im Fine
Im Fine
Im Fine
Im Fine
But Im Fine, Im Fine
Its gonna hurt like hell when you pull back the hammer and fire
But Im Fine, Im Fine
If Im the captain of this boat then all my shipmates are fools
And all the stars in the world couldnt help me steer my way out of this kiddie pool
But Im Fine, Im Fine
Needed a hand to keep my head up so you put hooks in both my ears
But Im Fine, Im Fine
And its a love that gives me heartburn
Its a song that makes my stomach turn
And I wouldnt trade my hand for all the aces in the deck
Cause Im Fine
Im Fine
Im Fine

"And all the stars in the world couldn't help me steer my way out of this kiddie pool"
I believe that is the best lyric ever, its meaning is so much deeper then they way it seems.
I thought so too. Then I asked myself, "Just how many stars are there in the world?"

None. There are no stars in the world.
None. There are no stars in the world.
This song shows y Dan is the man and how his songs have such a more mature feel to them
yeahh ALKL3 more mature...the lyric is positive i`m fine...
Two things:
I'm pretty sure that: "I'm gonna wake up from this dream when nightmares land up on my street" is really "I'm gonna wake up from this dream with nightmares lined up on my street"
and
"And I wouldn't trade my head for all the aces in the deck" is really "And I wouldn't trade my hand for all the aces in the deck"
Makes more sense being a playing card reference. Hand of playing cards...etc.
also mixed up with deck of the ship, great mold there or turn or w/e

Indeed you are right on the hand part. Didn't see that one.

and its "i'm gonna wake up from this dream with nightmares lined up on my street"
and its "i'm gonna wake up from this dream with nightmares lined up on my street"
The best song on This Addiction. Lyrics are pretty self-explanatory, but brilliant nonetheless - he goes through alot of hard times, and things are often really hard, but, he just makes the best of it all and its fine.
This song is amazing.
2 things: Any idea what "Needed a hand to keep my head up so you put hooks in both my ears," means? My first interpretation was pain, but could it be reference to a song or musician?
Favorite lines in this song: "It's ironic that I drink to make my insides stop hurting And it's a love that gives me heartburn It;s a song that makes my stomach turn And I wouldn't trade my hand for all the aces in the deck" Absolutely brilliant.
The whole song makes me think of "I think I'll be okay," by Bayside.
I'm not sure I agree with the interpretation that this song is positive. Yeah, he says he's "fine", but do you believe him? He's talking about how much it hurts and how he's drinking to forget his problems. He doesn't really sound fine to me! While yes, he's telling us he's ok he's doing it with a very heavy heart. I think he's just saying it to make everyone feel better, I don't think he really believes it himself.
This is definitely the best song off This Addiction!
This is my favorite song from this album, possibly my favorite from Alk3 altogether. He's convincing himself he's ok, even though he's not. Things have gone wrong and he's had a lot of bad stuff happen to him in his relationship, but he wouldn't give it up for the world. He's obviously in love with someone, and things went wrong, but he still puts up with it because he loves her, hence 'it's a chronic pain in my ass, but no it's not a burden' Almost like taking care of/being with the person isn't exactly perfect, but he still loves her "I wouldn't trade my hand for all the aces in the deck" I'm especially fond of "it's ironic that I drink to make my insides stop hurting" I definitely know how that feels! The song obviously means a lot more than what I just said, but I love it and although Dan doesn't sing many songs, when he does they are always top notch
This song is about a person who tried to give love a try. Not just one try but so many tries as it mentions about the stars. But unfortunately, nothing worked. This person is not in love with all those stars. His/her quest began with one person and after losing that love, s/he continued searching his/her love in every new love but could not. But this person does not seem to tire. Rather s/he is so confident that no matter how much are those heart-broken people making noises, this person sleeps so well (peacefully) that at least s/he started the fire (of life) in that calmn, yet bored life of his/her own and many other people. I think this song is more suitable for a slutty person who has sex with so many in the hope of finding love, but is utterly dismayed each time by seeing them treating sex as sex, instead of love. I think the irony is that this person knows only one way to express love i.e. sex. While all others speak a different language of love. So, yes, in darker ways, this person is an alien on a planet of aliens where nobody knows what love is. Each time this person tries to voice his/her own opinion, s/he is silenced bitterly by the very people whom s/he fell in love with. So, this tragedy goes on and on and on.... with no signs of either side giving up!
This song is my life. I'm 26 and I continuously have pieces of my heart ripped out. It rains for days and I drown in my old ways, but in the end I'm fine.
