This is my favorite song from this album, possibly my favorite from Alk3 altogether.
He's convincing himself he's ok, even though he's not.
Things have gone wrong and he's had a lot of bad stuff happen to him in his relationship, but he wouldn't give it up for the world. He's obviously in love with someone, and things went wrong, but he still puts up with it because he loves her, hence 'it's a chronic pain in my ass, but no it's not a burden' Almost like taking care of/being with the person isn't exactly perfect, but he still loves her "I wouldn't trade my hand for all the aces in the deck"
I'm especially fond of "it's ironic that I drink to make my insides stop hurting" I definitely know how that feels!
The song obviously means a lot more than what I just said, but I love it and although Dan doesn't sing many songs, when he does they are always top notch
