Q&A
Falkland Rd. Lyrics
there was never a chance to get away
when was it only ever but perverse
why could they take a stone and break your arms
there could be nothing worse
except to live
live, live little girl
sold in slavery
twenty-five men today
have their way in you
burned upon the breast
with a cigarette
nothing is worse than to be born and live
there was someone at home you cared about
when was there anyone who cared for you
why could they a spoon and break your teeth
there could be nothing worse
except to live
live, live blighted girl
sold in slavery
twenty-five men today
have their way in you
burned upon the feet
with a cigarette
nothing is worse than to be born and live
earth has lost and lost its youth
tomorrow, tomorrow will be no happy days
you will die and die at falkland road
your ashes will reek of sweat
when was it only ever but perverse
why could they take a stone and break your arms
there could be nothing worse
except to live
sold in slavery
twenty-five men today
have their way in you
burned upon the breast
with a cigarette
nothing is worse than to be born and live
when was there anyone who cared for you
why could they a spoon and break your teeth
there could be nothing worse
except to live
sold in slavery
twenty-five men today
have their way in you
burned upon the feet
with a cigarette
nothing is worse than to be born and live
tomorrow, tomorrow will be no happy days
you will die and die at falkland road
your ashes will reek of sweat

"I read a couple of books about the sexual trafficking of young girls from Nepal into India and my band mate actually went to Nepal and did some research on it. So there’s a street in New Deli called Falkland Road where sexual trafficking of underage girls take place. Some of the lines from the song are actual quotes from the books I read where young women talk about it having happened to them. "

The word 'today' is missing from the line "twenty-five men had their way with you [today]"
The word 'about' is missing from the line "there was someone at home you cared [about]"
The verb 'take' is missing from "why could they [take] a spoon and break your teeth"
The word 'today' is missing from the line "twenty-five men [today] had their way in you"
The line "Nothing is worse than to be born and live" is missing after "burned upon the feet with a cigarette"
I think in the penultimate line it might be the preposition 'at' instead of the conjunction 'and', i.e. "you will die and die [at] Falkland Road". At least that's what it sounds like to me. And makes more sense. What do others think?
