Make Me Wanna Die Lyrics

=Take me, I'm alive
I never was a girl with a wicked mind
But everything looks better when the sun goes down
I had everything, opportunities for eternity
And I could belong to the night

Eyes, your eyes
I can see in your eyes, your eyes

You make me wanna die
I'll never be good enough
You make me wanna die
And everything you love
Will burn up in the light
And everytime I look inside your eyes
You make me wanna die

Taste me, drink my soul
Show me all the things that I shouldn't know
When there's a new moon on the rise
I had everything, opportunities for eternity
And I could belong to the night

Eyes, your eyes
I can see in your eyes, your eyes
Everything in your eyes, your eyes

You make me wanna die
I'll never be good enough
You make me wanna die
And everything you love
Will burn up in the light
And everytime I look inside your eyes
(I'm burning in the light)
You make me wanna die

I would die for you, my love, my love
I would lie for you, my love, my love
(You make me wanna die)
And I would steal for you, my love, my love
(You make me wanna die)
And I would die for you, my love
My love will burn up in the light
And everytime I look inside your eyes
(I'm burning in the light)
Look inside your eyes
(I'm burning in the light)
Look inside your eyes
You make me wanna die

Does everything have to be f*cking about Twilight/vampires/werewolves? >_<; I am ready to choke a bitch over here.

Choke a vampire, please.

Please do so....it would make some people very happy x) people relating every song to Twilight is getting annoying.

-_- computer did not let me finish:

Anyway there could be multiple other different vampire movies that this could relate to that arent as mainstream, but even I know that every song like this isnt related to vampires or were wolves. This song could relate to many other movies....not just twilight crap...so i agree, i would like to choke a b*itch too.Plus this song mostly likely isnt about a movie at all...its probably about the how the writer feels or felt at some point in time.

I think you are all being ridiculous. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE TWILIGHT/WEREWOLF/SUPERNATURAL RELATED. At all. Clearly, pop culture is making the world stupid.

It's about being innocent and vulnerable. She's innocent and young; alive = lively, fresh, new. And she wants to be bad and dark and sinister.

"I'm alive" ---> "You make me wanna die".

Metaphor. "I'm young, I'm fresh, I'm innocent, I'm new and you make me wanna be bad, dark, and dangerous, but I'm not. I would do anything to be like you and to be with you, but everything you love about me will burn up in the light if I change. If I become bad, I will lose everything you love about me."

Life vs. Death Light vs. Dark

Opposing sides, forbidden love, opposites attract. Oh hey, no mention of vampires.

I agree completely. When I first heard this song, I thought about my cousin Alice. She used to be so sweet and so gentle, so full of life and love for everyone and everything. She was just the perfect person, really. She was the picture of innocence. And then she met Jess. He was the bad boy, a mini James Dean, if you will. He was hardcore bad, something that scared the shizz out of my aunt and uncle who had never lived outside of suburbia.

Well, over time, Alice became more and more like Jess. I loved her to...

You're right. I mean..... This song is written by Taylor Momson, for christ sake. She is young. And new to the scene. And one hell of a singer. Look at her style, her voice, her appearance. If she isn't young and innocent on the way to becoming a hell lot less innocent, I don't know what that means....

I think this is song is about wanting someone who you know you can't have and then when you look at them you feel worthless and empty and so they "make me wanna die".

I think you are correct :). :)

Codeh - I think you are pretty close.

I also think it's about innocence being broken and falling in love/lust.

This young thing had a bright future, and was very innocent (maybe Taylor?). "Opportunities for eternity." But now she's shown this other world by another person, who represents everything she is not. "Everything looks better when the sun goes down." and "Show me all the things I shouldn't know."

Now she's throwing it all away for him/her. But she also feels as if she isn't good enough for him/her. "I could belong to the...

fancydragongirl, although that makes sense, i don't think that you can say one is correct or incorrect for that matter, cuz its a song and therefore is left upto the listener's interpretations. as long as you have a reason to believe what you believe then its correct. IMO a good piece of music is the one that doesn't necessairly have a set meaning, instead it depends on the listener for the meaning. i too agree with codeh, i feel like character is portraying that the one she loves apparently thinks of her as worthless piece of shit and although she...

Stupid fuckers you have tainted this song for me now lol. Seriously. I really doubt this is about a freakin vampire. Stop trying to apply everything to twilight. Twilight is just a supernatural rip off of Romeo and Juliet anyway, which is more what this song reminds me of.

So while I don't think this song is ABOUT vampires, I think she is using Vampires as a metaphor.

To me, the song is about a girl who is falling in love with this guy but he's a bad influence and makes her feel worthless. She compares it to a human falling in love with a vampire because outside of the twilight saga, vampires are evil and also bad influences.

Correct lyrics:

Take me, I'm alive I never was a girl with a wicked mind But everything looks better when the sun goes down I had everything, opportunities for eternity And I could belong to the night

Eyes, your eyes I can see in your eyes, your eyes

You make me wanna die I'll never be good enough You make me wanna die And everything you love Will burn up in the light And everytime I look inside your eyes You make me wanna die

Taste me, drink my soul Show me all the things that I shouldn't know When there's a new moon on the rise I had everything, opportunities for eternity And I could belong to the night

Eyes, your eyes I can see in your eyes, your eyes Everything in your eyes, your eyes

You make me wanna die I'll never be good enough You make me wanna die And everything you love Will burn up in the light And everytime I look inside your eyes (I'm burning in the light) You make me wanna die

I would die for you, my love, my love I would lie for you, my love, my love (You make me wanna die) And I would steal for you, my love, my love (You make me wanna die) And I would die for you, my love My love will burn up in the light And everytime I look inside your eyes (I'm burning in the light) Look inside your eyes (I'm burning in the light) Look inside your eyes You make me wanna die

I don't think this song is about vampyres, I think it's about trying to please people and then there's always someone who remains unimpressed. Like "Never was a girl with a wicked mind" could refer to all those people saying that she's changed and she's not being the real her, but she really is being herself "Everything looks better, when the sun goes down"

"I had everything, opportunities for eternity." Maybe talking about how she might have been told that starting a band when she had a good acting career was 'foolish'. "And I could belong to the night" Maybe she's saying that by not going off on her own and getting away from the people who want to control her image would be like surrendering to the 'dark side/night'.

"Your eyes, your eyes, i can see in your eyes, your eyes - You make me wanna die" People who don't believe in her, and don't think she can be good enough to make something out of herself and her band and she can see it in their eyes."I'll never be good enough" Covered that in the last bit there :P They don't think she's good enough to become a singer (or something along those lines). "Everything you love will burn up in the light" I think this line means something like she's going to show them that she can do it, and that perfect image they made of her (which they might have "loved" in a sense) will "burn up in the light".

"Taste me, drink my soul, show me all the things that I shouldn't know. And there's a new moon on the rise" This part is harder to figure out, seeing as the lyrics are probably very personal to Taylor, but I think maybe it means something like entering her new world and learning new things about herself. The new moon is supposedly a time of new beginnings, so I think that make sense. Like she's talking about a new life, and a new beginning.

"I would die for you my love, my love. I would lie for you, my love, my love. I would steal for you, my love my love. I would die for you my loe, my love...will burn up in the light" Seeing as she added on the "will burn up in the light" To the end of my love, I think she's talking about moving on from her old life and the old her.

Idk, hope this made sense to anyone besides me, lol :)

personally i think everyone is taking the meaning of this song way too literally with the whole vampires and werewolves thing. yes it sounds like it could relate to the twilight story if you think about it but i for some reason doubt that twilight was on taylors mind when she wrote this. i think its more about the forbidden love thing and maybe even corrupting the curious innocent girl. she sounds like shes telling the guy who shes singing to that she wants him to teach everything shes never experienced by corrupting her or bringing her over to the dark side. maybe hes this guy she wants and because hes so different shell never be "good" enough for him? its hard to explain what i mean. i feel that i can relate. its like innocent girl likes bad boy and she wants to be bad for him so she tries to say how shes up for trying all those bad things. but for some reason she still thinks shell never be enough for him and the thought makes her wanna die

Interpretation #1: This song is about vampires. Evidence: "everything looks better when the sun goes down", "opportunities for eternity", "I could belong to the night", "burn up in the light", "taste me, drink my soul", "I'm burning in the light" Conclusion: She or the subject of the song is a vampire (or other creature of the night), possibly both of them, and there's a lot of forbidden romance going on, especially all the references to dying for the subject. Vampires because of the aversion to light, drinking of souls and belonging to the night.

Interpretation #2: Some kind of Romeo and Juliet fatalistic romance. Evidence: "Everything looks better when the sun goes down", "I had everything", "you make me wanna die" "I'll never be good enough" "I would lie for you" "I would die for you" "I would steal for you" Conclusion: She or the subject is not literally going to "burn up in the light", more if you look at them with too much scrutingy (for example, under a bright light or in the light of day) the love will not be all it seems. The subject seems to be corrupting the narrator, making her willing to die, lie and steal for him or her.

I DO NOT THINK THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH TWILIGHT.

My Interpretation

o while I don't think this song is ABOUT vampires, I think she is using Vampires as a metaphor.

To me, the song is about a girl who is falling in love with this guy but he's a bad influence and makes her feel worthless. She compares it to a human falling in love with a vampire because outside of the twilight saga, vampires are evil and also bad influences.

I think this is generally about a relationship that goes from love to hate. It starts out as a girl who is eager to learn things about the "under world" of real life and learn secrets that everyday people don't and can't know.

Take me I'm alive ( This is her desperation for the "under world" where people die illegally, people who live lives that are constantly on the verge of being taken. She wants to be taken to it, so she can know. )

Never was a girl with a wicked mind (She was never able to imagine the truth, now that she knows how cruel and 'wicked' everything actually is.)

But everything looks better when the sun goes down (She, although now open eyed, is fascinated by this knowledge and is now living in the initial bliss of the "underworld" and "darkness", not expecting the later distress she will feel.)

I had everything/ Opportunities for eternity/ And I could belong to the night (Now the distress has come and she realizes how far her life could have gone had she remained in ignorant bliss and simultaneously recognizes the thin line these ignorant people walk on as they live in the same world filled with the same darkness and are everyday near death, should they discover the atrocities of that world.)

Then your eyes/ Your eyes/ I can see in your eyes/ Your eyes (The man who tempted her and allowed her to walk into this dark world from her "light" one, used feelings to get her to walk into it. He tricked her with emotions and by using his eyes, she couldn't resist and walked right into everything she asked for and everything that would kill her.)

You make me wanna die (She hates him now because he tricked her.) I'll never be good enough (She is afraid for her life, she could never be as good as him in surviving that dark world and doesn't want to die. It's either learn quick or die slow and now she is understanding that.) You make me wanna die (She hates him.) And everything you love will burn up in the light (He loves her but now she can never walk back into that blissful world without dying. Now that she is a part of that dark world, she can never leave it without dying first.) And every time I look inside your eyes/ You make me wanna die (She still has feelings for him and his eyes only remind her of her feelings and of her unfortunate future.)

Taste me drink my soul/ Show me all the things that I shouldn't know (The girl is reflecting on how eagerly she gave up her life for him and what she "shouldn't know." She bared her "soul" to him and gave herself up completely, leaving her vulnerable to him.) When there's a blue moon on the rise (She couldn't have known it then but she thinks back to the irony of how she was back then and sees that she was a "blue moon" or rare occasion who is on the "rise" or surviving the dark world unexpectedly.)

I had everything/ Opportunities for eternity/ And I could belong to the night (Same as above except now she is not quite as distraught.)

Then your eyes/ Your eyes/ I can see in your eyes/ Your eyes/ Everything in your eyes/ Your eyes (His damn eyes are drawing her in again. She can see herself in his eyes and because he is the one who is helping her learn how to survive, she is becoming like him and now can only see a future where she will always be near him, always able to see herself in his eyes. Everything she wants is starting to become him which is dreadful to her.)

You make me wanna die/ I'll never be good enough/ You make me wanna die/ And everything you love will burn up in the light/ And every time I look inside your eyes/ You make me wanna die/ (That whole section is about her trying to keep herself from loving him because she realizes still that she would die is she left the dark world but "every time [she]...look[s] inside [his]... eyes" she can't help but feel drawn in and in love. It makes her wanna die NOW because the love is so crushing and exactly the opposite of what she could want.)

I would die for you my love My love (She is coming to grips with her feelings. He is making her want to die in a new way... for HIM should the situation come.) I would lie for you my love My love (You make me wanna die) (She would fool everyone in the world of light, forsake all those who she once loved and trusted her for him. Again the author hints the NEW suggestion of the reason she would wanna die.) I would steal for you my love My love (You make me wanna die) (She would steal others out of the world of light [refer back to 'take me' in the top line] who don't know what they're asking for as he did with her for him if he asked.) And I would die for you my love, my love We'll burn up in the light (She confessed her love for him and now, loving her back, he sees what this dark world has done to her and can't let her be in the suffering of the dark world anymore. He's decided that she and he will escape into the world of light, even if it is certain that they will die.) And every time I look inside your eyes (She feels content looking inside his eyes, even in the face of extreme suffering.) I'm burning in the light, look inside your eyes I'm burning in the light, look inside your eyes (They left the dark world and now she is dying with him but he tells her to look inside his eyes and she listens and feels calm as he knew she would.) You Make Me Wanna Die (His love for her and her love for him made her willing to die even in the most unconquerable of obstacles and she took the chance for him so now she is paying the price. She died.)

So the gist? A relationship that transformed from hate into love where she became willing to die for him and eventually did.

It's long I know but I hope it makes sense. Don't make me wanna die please by telling me you hate it ;D

pretty much. this song got me through a terrible FWB situation with a much younger dude. this song is my song to him. and he had amazing eyes.

Haha so Taylor Momsen will probably hate me for this, but I can't help but think this song could be on the Twilight soundtrack. Lame, I know, but let me explain...

Take me, I'm alive I never was a girl with a wicked mind But everything looks better when the sun goes down

(Bella as a human thinking about how before she met Edward she never would have found herself drawn to wicked stuff, but now she despises the sun because it means Edward can't be outside. And "take me, I'm alive" could mean "bite me, I'm human".)

I had everything, opportunities for eternity And I could belong to the night

(Perhaps this song could be set during New Moon after Edward has left her and Bella is thinking about what she could have had if he would've just turned her. These two lines are what first made me think this song could be about a human and a vampire.)

Eyes, your eyes I can see in your eyes, your eyes

(Think of the Cullen's golden eyes vs. the "evil" vampires' blood red eyes.)

You make me wanna die I'll never be good enough You make me wanna die

(If this is set during the first book, then "you make me wanna die" could mean "I want to be a vampire too, because I'll never be good enough as a human", but if set during New Moon, then it could be how Bella felt after Edward left, when she basically curled up into a ball on the forest floor and wished she were dead because she thought she wasn't good enough.)

And everything you love Will burn up in the light

(I guess this part can't be a literal interpretation because Twilight vampires don't burn up in the sunlight like your traditional vamps, but maybe it's saying that if Edward is spotted by a human in the light and the Cullen's "sparkly" secret gets out, then everything they have worked for "will burn up" and they'll have to move out of Forks.)

Taste me, drink my soul Show me all the things that I shouldn't know When there's a new moon on the rise

(Taste me is obvious... Edward craves her blood all the time because Bella is his "singer" or whatever. The second line could refer to Edward showing Bella his world, which she shouldn't know about, or it could refer to Jacob showing her how to ride a bike/be a badass in New Moon.)

Wow, I can't believe I just wasted all that time posting this! Way to procrastinate... But awesome song even if it is about Twilight (which I highly doubt, since it has more of an edgy feeling to it and Taylor doesn't seem like your typical teenage girl).

Can't wait for their album to come out in June!

My Interpretation

You have EXACTLY the same thoughts as me except you can explain them better (I never was good at that ;/) I REALLY wish this song came out earlier so it could've been on the New Moon Soundtrack. Ho hum. I HOPE HOPE HOPE it's apart of the Eclipse Soundtrack. It's like this song was written for The Twilight Saga. Brilliant! :D

totally agree with you! i never thought of that till ir ead your comment i was like omg shes right! and to lyrics master this song was totally written for the twilight saga! =)

I guess it could be for Twilight but where I heard it was in Vampire Diaries tv show.
