Did It Again Lyrics
First Floor
Room Sixteen
Smells like danger
Even better
Set your goals
Bless our souls
I'm in trouble
But it feels like heaven
HEY!
You were like one of those guys
The kind with a wandering eye
But I said, "hey what the hell, once in my life I'll take a ride on the wild side"
You were so full of yourself
But damn, were you cute, as well
You liked my legs, I liked your moves
Anyone could tell that it's hard to deny that
Did it again, love
I got it all wrong
But it felt so right
I can't believe it
And all the mistakes
That went on for too long
Wish there was a way
I could delete it
Eh, Eh, Eh, Eh
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Second night in a row
Back in trouble
I don't get it
Gotta keep it down
Because the Lobby called
We ignore 'em (yes, I know)
its getting better
Hey!
When it comes to men it's known
That I end up choosing wrong
'Cause I always trip and fall
The same old rock and repeat and go back
How blind a girl can be
To miss you hide your ring
Thought about everything
I'm so naive imagining and all that
Did it again, love
I got it all wrong
But it felt so right
I can't believe it
And all the mistakes
That went on for too long
Wish there was a way
I could delete it
Eh, eh, eh, eh
Ah, ah, ah, ah
It may seem to you that I am in a place
Where I'm losing the direction of my life
But I'm sure that this is nothing but a phase
"Right back at ya," cause I'll survive...

i am in looooove with shakira but i didnt really understand her music video for this song. i thought the dancing was awesome but just the scene where shes in the sauna with a bunch of ladies confused me. do you think maybe shes implying that she's messed up so many times with men that she's gonna go after women? or maybe they're just her friends. either way, still love her
maybe it's like when women gossip about their love life and they're just her friends but hey your guess is as good as mine :)

This song is easy to understand, since it's narrated by the woman Shakira plays the part of. Basically the woman meets a man who has a 'wandering eye', i.e. he's kind of a player, and decides that what the hell, for once she'll take a risk and try it on with him since she always goes for the men that look nice but they always end up breaking her heart (the bit about the same old rock and repeating), except this time it just happens again. She gets into another bad relationship with a man who's married and just in it for the sex, and it comes crashing down on her. She's done it again -- she's failed another relationship. She tries imagining a life with this man but it's all just fantasy.
I love when she sings fast.
To me this song is about casual sex; this woman is meeting up with this guy at a hotel for obvious reasons. Except, she regrets it. She really thought this guy was something special. He's very sexy and obviously seductive & of course she fell for it. Turns out, she made a mistake because he really is JUST in it for the sex. So, perhaps she feels kind of lame for falling so easily for such a seductive guy.
OR
could be based on just another failed relationship, but the song doesn't imply this so much.
What do you guys think?
Love the song btw.
I think this song is about a woman who fell for a guy because he was cute and hooked up with him even though she suspected he might be a player.

They hook up and sometime later she realizes that he's married.

"How blind a girl can be To miss you hide your ring"...
"How blind a girl can be To miss you hide your ring"
The song implies that they hooked up for a long time before she realized he was married, and that she regrets what happened between them.
"And all the mistakes That went on for too long Wish there was a way I could delete it"
So basically my interpretation of this song is this: a woman falls in love with a guy and later realizes that he's married and as such, she has no future with him. She's upset but is positive about choosing better relationships in the future:
"But I'm sure that this is nothing but a phase 'Right back at ya,' cause I'll survive"
I agree but actually she realizes he's married before they hooked up, she just pretends he didn't see him when he hid his ring. The spanish version of the song is a lot clearer though.

Like another user said, I think this is definitely about causal sex. Her constant state of finding herself vulnerable to men because they've been seductive and luring and having sex with them all too soon. I think her guard falls too soon and she becomes enthralled by these men very quick and potential seeing a future with them so therefore she gives herself freely(a.k.a has sex). Moreover, what strikes me about the song lyrics is the lines:
"How blind a girl can be To miss you hide your ring Thought about everything I'm so naive imagining and all that"
I think a deeper meaning on the song talks about a woman having an affair with a married man multiple times. Whether it be the same person or another married lover, she is the other woman and she is constantly falling for these men who she has no business with and that makes the experience regretful and remorseful. Above all else the most heart-wrenching part about the song is the fact she dreams and fantasies a life with that person which won't happen....building her thoughts around marriage, love, relationship which is just merely dreaming. :(
THE CORRECT LYRICS ARE:
"You were like one of those guys The kind with a wandering eye But I said, "hey what the hell, once in my life I'll take a ride on the wild side" You were so full of yourself But damn, were you cute, as well You liked my legs, I liked your moves Anyone could tell that it's hard to deny that"
"Second night in a row Back in trouble I don't get it Gotta keep it down Because the Lobby called We ignore 'em (yes, I know) its getting better"
this song is talking about her and this guy who seem to both have this deepassionfor eachother " felt so right I cant believe it" it is most defenitley with a married man it seems as though she wants to stop but cant bring herself to and no matter what she says or does she falls back in the players arms. o
