Where We Used to Play Lyrics
I might seem a bit peculiar
A bit not right
For though I try, I remain a stranger
Not of this time.
I swear I’m almost there,
Though I’ve been wandering for days.
I may be chasing ghost trains hoping they’ll arrive
where we used to play.
I may be hopping ghost trains for they terminate
where we used to play in those days.
I know I’m with strangers I recognize
And I realize my own disowned me.
Well never mind.
I swear I’m almost there.
This is like where we used to play.
I may be chasing ghost trains hoping they’ll arrive
Where we used to play.
I may be hopping ghost trains for they terminate
Where we used to play in those days.
I never will let it go until I find the place I called mine.
I never was truly meant for this time.

This is my favourite Crash Love session song. It seems to be about alienation in general and a longing for the past. 'my own disowned me' might be a reaction to their fans who've given up on them, if they care about that stuff, i don't know. It sounds like a throwback, sing the sorrow kind of song.
I find this song to be a definite reference to nostalgia. But looking at the rest of the album I thought it might be nostalgic of the innocence of childhood/childhood love("where we used to play"), as an escape from the insanity of the "temporary" love sung about in Medicate ("you don't even know my name"). Although, I've heard this isn't supposed to be a concept album, so who knows. Either way it's one of my favorites, right up there with 100 words.
That's exactly what I thought :D
