Fainting Spells

Almost definitely not what it means but it gives something to relate to. He wants to find love before he dies. "give me something" There are plenty of short term relationships which mean nothing. "the love spent here, as I had feared, means nothing dear" Blood means love. "get the blood out" He can't love because of himself "bound by this flesh I own" He can't stop doing this. "desecrate till we die alone" He's given up. "I'm taking the short way down"

I noticed the line, "I've sung and drowned." The "sung" might be referring to Sing the Sorrow, and the "drowned" part may be referring to the end of the Love Like Winter video.

It's well-known by AFI fans that Davey gets pretty cryptic with his song writing and album structure, so I guess this comment isn't groundless. It might be, but I thought it was an interesting light at least.

I think this song might be about hating yourself and stuff - you know, like you just want to drain all of the blood from your body. Some people in the Despair Faction have also pointed out references to bloodletting - which induces fainting.

Good song but its easy to understand content wise why this wasnt included on the DecemberUnderground Album

Shame the rest of the album this came with wasn't as good. However why I'm here is to explain what it's about...

I think it's about when a person loses hope and meaning of why they're alive. And they pray to whatever to show them a sign that there is more to existence. This bothers them because they're stuck in this world that seems meaningless, in their body and they wish they could get out. It also seems the person he is describing wants to destroy themselves in one way or another for a few reasons, but is more thinging of commiting suicide. There is lots of self destruction in this song.
