You're walking on a broken foot this time, the divine becomes the deprived
You're making yourself look aged, head down and suck on the syphon
The words game and over never rang so true, the insanity gets thicker
I'm not an addict, I just enjoy getting fucked up

The men twiddle thumbs with their fingers in their
gums, they couldn't stay at home
The art of moderation versus pure temptation, their mouths will foam
Whilst the people all around them go hungry,
little fishy got away this time

You've pissed in your own swimming pool this time,
well, I can be a prick too
I get wasted, get jealous and talk a load of shit,
pucker up and suck on a shotgun
You tremble and you sweat and the horror fills you,
impatience creeping through your veins
The memories of the buzz still slowly drains

(The men twiddle thumbs with their fingers in their
gums, they couldn't stay at home
The art of moderation versus pure temptation, their mouths will foam
Whilst the people all around them go hungry,
little fishy got away this time) [x2]

I reckon this song deals with addicts of some sort. Possibly drug addicts and the way they are too hooked and in a vicious cycle.

I'm assuming the addiction in question too, is alcoholism. I mean if you think of the title, we're always told to "drink in moderation," and in that light I think it makes sense.....also, "little fishy got away this time," if you drink like a fish, chances are you're an alcoholic. Just my idea...

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
