It's All Over Now Lyrics

Leave, go on and leave, you said
Turn and walk away
Life's not worth it anymore
You stopped shaking and you slowly faded away
Now you're lying on the floor

I can't hear your heart beating anymore, no
I can't hear your heart beating anymore, no

It's all over now
What am I gonna do with all this time I set aside for you (aside for you)
I won't be needed now
To pick up the phone and call you
Like I'm supposed to know
You were all alone

Gone, memories gone
I know I was the one
Who was ignoring you for way too long
I hope while sleeping
I know that if you're finding solid ground
You'll know everything is, everything is sound

I can't hear your heart beating anymore, now (everything is sound)
I can't hear your heart beating anymore, now

It's all over now
What am I gonna do with all this time I set aside for you (aside for you)
I won't be needed now
To pick up the phone and call you
Like I'm supposed to know
You were all alone

Over now, over now
Maybe someday I can meet you there

It's all over now
What am I gonna do
What am I gonna do

It's all over now
What am I gonna do with all this time I set aside for you
I won't be needed now
To pick up the phone and call you
Like I'm supposed to know
No I won't be needed now
To pick up the phone and call you
Like I'm supposed to know
You were all alone

I know the album just came out today, but how can somebody not have commented on this song yet? This is by far the best song on the new album, imo.

I interpret it to be about a loved one who has been lost, after pushing the narrator (Cove) away. The narrator expresses some guilt for the death of the loved one, saying "like I'm supposed to know, you were all alone." Even though he was pushed away, the narrator was still needed in the loved one's life.

Truly a great song.

Obviously, It's about suicide. Someone pushed him away and he let them, without realizing what it would truly do to them, and now he's responsible for their death and feels the full weight of his guilt and regret.

This song is truely about a breakup. On the surface this song could be talking about suicide but it isn't. It's purely about a tough breakup, when you've lost somone that you have been with for so long that you don't know what to do and how to carry on without that person. It's like a love that has died.

this is absolutely great. and it has the meaning so much about a relationship that ended up in suicide :(

I like this song a lot. It reminds me of a relationship I was in. No one died literally, but it's hard to imagine how far you can drift apart from someone even though you love them "unconditionally" yet cease to show or feel any signs of it. This song has strong lyrical evidence that it might be about an actual suicide, bur to me it is just the suicide of your feelings in a relationship. "I can't hear your heart beating anymore now."

Long time Saosin fan, but this song might be my favorite of all time. And yes, probably a break up that ended in suicide.

To me, this song really makes me miss my old close friends. The ones I don't make the effort to see that often. The ones who could be going through a pain and suffering that I have no clue about. "No I won't be needed now to pick up the phone and call you Like I'm supposed to know you were all alone"

I know it's most probably about a break up, but it speaks to me differently.

If you heard the lines

"I know that if you're finding solid ground You'll know everything is, everything is sound"

it means ev'rything is fine when you're "6 feet under"

Cover art for It's All Over Now lyrics by Saosin

These lines mean: "I hope while sleeping" - It means sleeping "forever"

"I know that if you're finding solid ground You'll know everything is, everything is sound" - "solid ground" means being "6 feet under"
