No one died literally, but it's hard to imagine how far you can drift apart from someone even though you love them "unconditionally" yet cease to show or feel any signs of it. This song has strong lyrical evidence that it might be about an actual suicide, bur to me it is just the suicide of your feelings in a relationship. "I can't hear your heart beating anymore now."
