There sat a new test
Much harder that you bought in
As for the unseen, just take care of what you will
Light the silent alarm
We never think that we're missing much 'til

I gasp and hold my breath
These needs have changed so deep
To face you all and say
I've been awake for

I need a new test
Then I set out to choose someone to
Light the soul like a kiln
Just imagine us chasing this with
Eyes scorned from sleep apnea
A slight of tongue as the seas are emptying

I gasp and hold my breath
These needs have changed so deep
To face you all and say
I've been awake for

Ever
Ever
Ever
Ever

Try to read off a letter that's falling apart
The sun and the moon I count sheep
Escape like an animal ready for my sleepless stroll

I found these shifting hours mistakenly used up

So I gasp and hold my breath
These needs have changed so deep
To face you all and say
I've been awake for years

I gasp and hold my breath
These needs have changed so deep
To face you all and say
I've been awake for

Ever
Ever
Ever
Ever

Reading it...Knowing what sleep apnea is...Makes sense...for me though..i connect cuz i feel like im missing something when i sleep or like that time could've been spent doing something better..and in a way i feel like im killing myself when i do it..which is why i think this one has a double meaning...cuz the line ''these needs have changed so deep'' is ,to me, saying he has other priorities other than sleep plus some other lines..

I believe this song is about the ancient flower of life/ MERKABA meditation it's also a sacred geometric structure for conciousness.
" I GASP AND HOLD MY BREATH " Sounds like the 17+1 pranayama breaths you take in the MERKABA meditation ... (( Breath 1: place your hands in the following, thumb and first finger together, palms up. Empty lungs. Begin the breath taught above. Nostrils only. On the IN breath visualize red light, open your root chakra, HOLD BREATH , pulse the breath, short inhale. Exhale, slowly out of the nose, fill the upper tetrahedron with red light than the lower. Pause, pulse the eyes. )) " THESE NEEDS HAVE CHANGED SO DEEP" meaning he no longer feels the physical/ material world is empty and cant give the fulfillment he desires but more of the need to be deeply connected to a higher or spiritual source. " TO FACE YOU ALL AND SAY IVE BEEN AWAKE FOR YEARS/EVER" that he's been sleeping and finally reached some amount of enlightenment "awake"

practicing this meditation and I've always felt that this song is about this meditation by Drunvalo Melchizedek

easily my favorite song on the cd along with this circus, i know it sounds crazy but when i listen to this it sounds to me like he's talking about being abducted by aliens or something along those lines, it would go along with the album title at least, i know its a reach but oh well, its only after a few listens. i dont know how you got anything out of the part when he says "escape like an animal" because the animal part just sounds like mumbling to me but it seems to fit so good job.

I think this dude copied and pasted the lyrics I interpreted on Youtube and changed some of it up, but it doesn't matter...

"light the sun like a kiln" "then i set out to choose someone" "the sun and the moon i can't cheat" "i found these shifting hours mistakenly used up"

    The chorus is:

I gasp and hold me breath These needs have chains so deep To face you all the same I've been awake for...

    Also, in the second verse:

Eyes scorned from sleep apnea A slight of tongue as the seas are emptied

That's what Pete has said about this song: "'Sleep Apnea' is sort of a, it's kind of a joke how when you're on tour you're always trying to catch up on your sleep. It's just a heavy rock song that I would love to hear on the radio." (proof link ultimate-guitar. com/news/upcoming_releases/chevelle_tentative_album_title_revealed.html)

So, we know the meaning of these lyrics :)

After listening to the acoustic version of this I think the lyrics are 100% accurate or pretty darn close now.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
