I Will Not Bow

FUcking awsome song:). It is about shuting the world off from himself because people have become cruel is what it sounds like to me. It could always be about not giving in and not backing off to anyone or being put down and just letting people know that whatever they do to him he will not bow or give up;). Insprational song pretty much, very well done and very good:), New album is going to be tits:).

This seems to be a satirical line that shows the the way that you should not think.

And I'll survive paranoid I have lost the will to change And I am not proud Cold blooded fate I will shut the world away

This seems similar in nature and it seems hard to believe that he is presenting this as a posotive way to feel about the world. this is showing the exact way that someone should not feel.

Basically I see this as a truely dark and depressing song. It is putting into words the way that so many people in our world feel. There is so much evil in our world that many of the people who are good have completely lost any desire to change and do good. The most depressing part of this song is that it offers no solution. All it does is talk about shutting off the world even if you're not proud of doing it. I'm interested to see if the rest of the album will have a song with a solution to our world's problems that were presented in this song.

To me, this song is about (the mentality of?) super-villains. Here's my justification:

This is considered to be a very dishonorable act in the military. Sacrificing others for your own continued survival or gain is a trait many supervillains share.

The destruction of the world is a common goal and motivation of supervillains everywhere

Take the path that leads to nowhere

As the plots of super-villains are often thwarted in their attempts to destroy the world, theirs is a path that leads to nowhere.

If at first you don't succeed try, try again. Supervillains never give up or give in. They always come back with a new plan, a new plot to destroy the world.

And I'll survive, paranoid I have lost the will to change And I'm not proud, cold-blooded fate I will shut the world away

Perhaps more often seen in anime where the motivations and reasons behind a supervillain's actions and beliefs are explored, some experience a moment where they almost see what they're doing is wrong yet feel it's too late to change or simply feel resigned to their fate (they lost the will to change) and perhaps even curse their fate, wishing things were different (and I am not proud: cold-blooded fate). And then, resigned to their fate, they continue along the cycle they've become so comfortable with (I will shut the world away).

So that's my two cents. Let me know your thoughts on this =)

Going to have to disagree with you about the whole "girl" element, I'm afraid! :D

Oh by the way, I'm 90% sure the lyric says "Cold-blooded fake" rather than "fate".

My interpretation of this is centred around his admitted past drug and alcohol abuse. "Light the fuse and burn it up" metaphorical of lighting smoking apparatus and a self-destructive fuse. He's not proud of it, etc, etc, but he will not bow to the substances and drink, hence his sobriety as of the end of 2007. And won't "fall" like those whose lives have been cut short or severely damaged by aforementioned vices. Well, that's my take. Knowing BB as well as I do, I find these lyrics far more meaningful and important than any of their songs about relationships.

i think it means never giveing up on what ever it your going through... my now ex best friend lied and maked my girlfriend leave me and took her away and started dateing her..... i think the song means never giving up and fight for whats right even shuting out the world if the if the lies become truth then nothings is right so I will not bow I will not break I will shut the world away I will not fall I will not fade I will take your breath away.. im not a pushy person i get pushed over a lot and i cant sit and watch this happen if not the world will become colder i fight for whats right

I think this song is really about a girl leaving him, and him not giving in and letting her go without a fight.

I'm not sure... I have to listen to it again, but i think it sais cold blood AND fake... like i said, not sure though. The meaning I get form thi ssing is the that the person in the song has grown angry and full of hate for how the world has become so decadent, and how he's saying that he won't become another pawn like everyone else. He'll survive, even if it's through being paranoid, and he's lost the will to change himself into what others think he should be. BTW, I think this song is slightly unoriginal, but still good. It sounds like it should have been put on phobia.

I see this as a positive song. The world is full of dismay and tumoil and fake people waiting to implode. But i wont succumb to the worlds ways, hence i will not bow.
