My girl's ready to take control
She just blows my mind
She only listens to the radio
To see who's alive, yeah

She wakes up scared of getting old
She don't feel no shame
She knows so many pretty boys
And they are all the same
They said 'oh hey there girl tell me what do you do'
She said 'um nothing but I'm damn sure it's more than you'

That girl's a genius
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
I think she's serious
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh

If what you know is who you are
Then she's everything
You don't need an education
To know what class that your in
They said 'hey there girl tell me what do you do'
She said 'nothing but I'm damn sure it's more than you'

That girl's a genius
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
I think she's serious
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh

That girl's a genius
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
I think she's serious
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh

She said hey there boy
Come on over and sit
Love is when you wanna kiss
And you get bit

That girl's a genius
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
I think she's serious
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh

That girl's a genius
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
I think she's serious
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh

That girl's a genius
That girl's a genius
That girl's a genius
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh

A lot of people hate on Jet. To me, they have killer riffs and catchy songs. What else do you need, really?

This song is about groupies, I think.

    Yes ...

this song totally says what I would if I could tell the girl herself. But sometimes you just have to watch the genius exist from the sidelines and smile. And simply sing along in admiration.

The Jets are a fun band.

This song is very reminiscent for those who are old enough to remember the positive/power-boppy Van Halen 80's rocker scene in Hollywood and Pasadena (i.e. pre-Grunger suicider). Australia loves the retro. (Actually is not really retro if your out-back never had it in the first place.)

This music storm-troops through simplistic, cowboy poetry with fearless impunity.

The adamant, unstoppable wanna-be cadence bounces along without the slightest hesitation or shame. It makes you want to line-dance down the block with all the curly-headed, cowboy-boot-wearin' college chicks ... (as long as they haven't banned you from the neighborhood yet:) LOL

SHE IS GENIUS. (Tweeky Sneaky Cheeky Genius!) I AM PROUD AND ENCHANTED AND MESMERIZED BY HER EXISTENCE. (Just like this song was.)

Never in my life have I seen such genius reside, hide and then intelligently ride like a girl like this song suggests. Hopefully someone who knows a lot about horses can figure some cute quick-steps to it and we can make a cowboy-dance-video with it sometime.

    ... Always

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
