Save Me Lyrics

So much that I've done wrong it's an open book
I've done much more than my fair share of damage

What once was hidden is crystal clear. Transformation is within me
To break the cycle I must turn to you
What I lack I gain through your virtue I gain through you

Even when I fall will you still believe
Even when I'm lost will you still believe.

Shattered by the hate that I carry
Take me as I am and make me whole again
I am lost without a purpose always consumed by self
I freely give this calloused heart, can you forgive me

Even when I fall will you still believe
Even when I'm lost will you still believe.
Now I don't have much, will you save me
But I'll give it all, will you save me

I've make so many mistakes
And I've broken so many promises
I've searched inside and I'm empty
Will you save me. Will you save me

Even when I fall will you still believe
Even when I'm lost will you still believe.
Every time I fall will you save me
Even when I fall will you save me

Its more towards a relationship than towards god.

Howard and KSE are simply amazing!

Again, there is always a huge debate on the whether or not Howard's lyrics are religious, secular, or quasi- religious, but to me this song is pretty clear.

I take it to be about Howard pleading with someone (God, a loved one, both) for forgiveness on the things he's done in life. He is breaking down admitting his faults and hoping that the someone will be willing to forgive him and still be there for him, despite his failings. This reflects a strong biblical message in my opinion based on how Jesus has always said that no matter how many times we as people fail, His love and forgiveness will always be there.

My 2 cents. Enjoy.

yeah man... I like it.. it's true too. I feel it and relate to it in a religious falling out of my own wrongs but this is felt throughout all kse's songs. it's consistent regardless of the interpretations.

i 100% agree with soccero15. a lot of songs by KSE are about religion and a lot are about love/relationships. this is a song which you interpret for yourself.

Likewise, I agree with soccero15. The message is pretty clear - howard is pleading with God about the wrong he's done in his past, and asking to be saved.

you know wat? scratch my last statement. songs are either about love/relationships or a reference to God. sorry for the misleading comment. its not what you interpret it as. i still agree with soccero15.

well corrected...relativism leads to destruction

Sounds to me like someone who may have once been a good person but then one day gave away someone he loved for fame or wealth but now he's lost it all and he's trying to give the last of what he has to get that person back. "Now I don't have much, will you save me. But I'll give it all, will you save me"

It talks about how in his success he lost his heart but now he'd do anything to get it back. "I am lost without a purpose always consumed by self I freely give this calloused heart, can you forgive me I've searched inside and I'm empty"

I don't really think any of their songs are religious. You can ask for salvation without it meaning salvation from the Christian God. I just think people can reflect better if it revolves around something they can wrap their heads around (i.e redemption from God). However, I'm not religious so this doesn't have the same affect for me. Their songs are very poetic and to some degree tragic but they always have a glimmer of hope.

Killswitch Engage are a bit like U2 in that their songs can be interpreted several ways. I am a Christian, so I often take their songs as having Christian meaning. Others with a different background will not see it as much.

However, this song seems to be pretty clear about the saving power of Jesus, in a pretty explicit way. Christians believe that it is through Jesus' perfect life and perfect love we are saved. We are made clean, and the past is erased.

So, lines like these seem unmistakable to me:

"To break the cycle I must turn to you What I lack I gain through your virtue I gain through you"

and

"Shattered by the hate that I carry Take me as I am and make me whole again I am lost without a purpose always consumed by self I freely give this calloused heart can you forgive me"

I find these lyrics beautiful and powerful and hope-giving. But however you interpret them, I hope they make you think and bring you something positive. Cheers.
