Reckoning Lyrics
You are nothing to me
This is the reckoning
It won't be long before it dies
No man can be your deity
This is a reckoning
You are nothing to me
This is the reckoning
Wants strength, not enough
No man can be your deity
This is a reckoning
You are nothing to me
This is the reckoning
And I will be there
To see you fall
You are no God to me
There is the reckoning
And the broken-hearted, will finally heal
You will be judged
You will be found wanting
and we'll be there to see you fall
This is the reckoning
You are nothing to me
This is the reckoning
And I will be there
To see you fall
You are no God to me
There is the reckoning

I love the song, it reminds me of The End of Heartache sound. and after As Daylight Dies, hearing more yelling/screaming from Howard was a very nice thing to hear.

i think its about someone Howard once praised and loved but they turned on him by thinking they had power over him and everyone else. this is him saying that they will not control him and he'll be there when that person gets whats coming to them

i laughed wen u said this might be about Obama, but then i listened to the song again and it might possibly be lol. nice catch

I like the new album already!!!
This sound isn't just about President Obama, but also his supporters and the country in general, but on a much deeper level than just politics. Very interesting.
Our country hated President Bush so much on a majority that when Obama was campaigning and was elected, people utterly believed he was our country's savior. I can't remember how many people I saw crying, and almost worshiping him on Election day.
This is where the song's message comes into play.
While many fans will disagree about the religious backgrounds of KSE's lyrics, there is a bit of it in this song.
"You are no God to me You are nothing to me This is the reckoning
Enjoy this while it lasts It won't be long before it dies
You've stolen lies, and broken dreams No man can be your deity"
This is referring to how mankind cannot be it's own God. So many of our country put their absolute belief in the new president that they believed the world in itself was going to change. It seems to me that these verses are Howard saying that no man can be God, and that in the end all of the lies that mankind will try to portray will fail in the end. In the end, no matter what happens with our leaders, we are not the decider of our futures.
"The betrayed, will now see the truth And the broken-hearted, will finally heal You will be judged You will be found wanting and we'll be there to see you fall."
These lines are almost Howard saying what has seemed to be the Obama campaign of recent. (Although I admit that almost every politician does this) many of the selling points of Obama's campaign have been reversed or stalled since he came to power. Eventually, everyone will start to see what was said and what is happening is very different.
I am not trying to be a Obama basher because honestly I hate when people complain about our great country's leaders, but this song does point to much of our current situation.

Hahaha... I laughed when someone said it's about Obama. But then I got to looking at it and maybe it is about him lol. Broken dreams and false promises :P

Its gotta be about how he isnt one of the masses idolizing Hollywood and Barrack Obama.

Whenever I listen to the song I think of the Pope(Catholic Church)who had millions of people in a religious slavery back in the day and people finally rose up to challenge them, because they realized that the Pope and Catholic church were not gods and that people could choose for themselves what they believed in and did.

I like this a lot. Got no problem with the new album's sound.
Hell yeah!!! another great song...like the sound!
Hell yeah!!! another great song...like the sound!

What an awesome song. The meaning is obvious. It's retribution.

The lyrics really sound like it's a song about someone whose so narcissistic that he/she considers him/herself to be a God. The lines "you will be judged/ you will be found wanting/ and we'll be there to see you fall" is how the band feels about narcissistic, egotistical people. "Wants the penance, not enough/ wants the strength, not enough"... Some people just want more than what they deserve... The song sends shivers down my spine... June 30th is too long of a damn wait (and it's the 3rd of June...)!
