Half inch fuse, ready to bite
Never said you're sorry cause you've always been right
Tell me I'm lame every Saturday night
Cause you drink too many and you want to fight

All my life, hold my breath
Wonder what trouble is coming next
Hold on tight through this mess
Sing that song cause you sing it best

La la la la

Hey
I love it when you're spitting in my face
The way you scream when you're breaking all my things
I love the way you put me in my place
Don't ever leave me alone

Five cent heads, two bucks a pint
I was late with the rent but I never say die
Wet my bed, is it ever gonna dry?
Learned to take your shit with a big ass smile

All my life, hold my breath
Shrugging off visions of an early death
Hold on tight through this mess
Sing that song cause you sing it best

La la la la

Hey
I love it when you're spitting in my face
The way you scream when you're breaking all my things
I love the way you put me in my place
Don't ever leave me alone
Hey
I love it when you rip my heart away
When you hold it in my face so I can see
I love the way you bring to my knees
Don't ever leave me alone

Hold on to me
Hold on to me
Hold on to me
Hold on

I think that this song is basically a huge sarcastic ballad to an ex-girlfriend or family member...I mean it kinda has to be, right? Nobody loves it when you scream in their face, break their stuff in a drunken rage, etc etc. Just my opinion. But yea, definitely a great song. Lyrics are very solid.

This song is about the concept of CO-DEPENDENCY. As a previous poster pointed out, who would be cool with being spit on in the face? someone with zero self esteem that is willing to put up with all kinds of shit as long as, what? as long as they are not abandoned. Clearly he doesnt care what the fuck she does as lond as she doesnt EVER LEAVE! The part about wetting the bed, just asking to be held. Very serious subject matter, very well done.

This song is about a relationship. and learning how to deal with eachother. They fight..she gives him shit and he learns to deal with everything she gives him because he doesnt want to be without her. Dont ever leave me alone. Like, dont ever leave me even afer all the fighting and shit we go through, lets go through it together.

i loveee this song my all time favorite lines are, "tell me im lame every saturday night cuz you drink too many and you want to fight..." "heyyyyy i love it when your spitting in my face the way you scream when your breaking all my thingss"

    ahhhh smile empty soul<3

my thought is that this is a typical relationship, they butt heads, especially when they've both had a few. he just takes it all in and let's her say what she wants.

he lives by the wise words: "i can be right, or i can be happy."

This song is about a guy who has found someone he feels to be his dream girl. She is everything he has ever wanted except that she likes to drink and often gets belligerent. This causes her to want to fight and give him a lot of shit that he simply takes because of the way he feels about her and due to the fact that he feels he can't live without her. Due to his feelings he has actually learned to accept the way things are and will continue to allow them to be that way to simply keep the girl around. It shows the need that some people feel for acceptance and how they will put up with almost anything to keep someone who they may actually be better of without around.

It actually happens quite a lot. GREAT SONG THOUGH!

    My Interpretation

You guys are all wrong. The song is about a sadomasochistic relationship. I think it's pretty obvious. The lines "I love..." say it all.

This song i think is talking about how people stay in relationships even if they are abusive or "unhealthy". Yes all relationships have a certain amount of "friction" in them but you still love that person, why people can't just say FUCK OFF is unknown, i am the same way i will always love my girlfriend no matter how many times we fight, scream at each other, or anything. Some people just need to be loved and the idea of "leaving" or being left, is unbarring.

Everyone here is like half correct. It is about the life of a co-dependent. It's about being dependent upon someTHING or someONE that is not necessarily good for you (and you know it.) It could be a person or a substance or whatever.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
