The beat gonna move your lips,
From what I wanna taste, and your hips
Are calling me out on the floor.
Girl, we can’t ignore this attraction.
All up on me when I dim the lights,
And tonight, this feels right.
So baby, let’s close our eyes,
As we fade into the distraction.

You're pulling me aside your body,
A lighting or you will light on me.
You're inside my head,
The wild in you,
Baby, I don't mean to confuse.
People, this is just what I do.

The beat is gonna move your lips,
From what I wanna taste, and girl, your hips
Are calling me out on the floor.
Girl, we can't ignore this attraction.
All up on me when they dim the lights,
And tonight this feels right.
So baby let's close our eyes,
As we fade into the distraction.

You're pulling me aside your body,
A lighting or you will light on me.
You're inside my head,
The wild in you,
Baby, I don't mean to confuse.
People, this is just what I do.

'Cause since you want me, girl,
I'm sounding the alarm.
'Cause the truth is,
I mean you no harm.

'Cause since you want me, girl,
We can get it on.
But know this:
As soon as I'm done, I'm gone.
Gone.

(Woo!)

You're pulling me aside your body,
(I can't get enough.)
A lighting or you will light on me.
You're inside my head,
Wild 'n out,
Baby, I don't mean to confuse.
People, this is just what I do.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
