I woke up to a dream passing by
It was the middle of the night
Was I awake? Was I asleep? What was I doing outside?
I saw a man walk from the trees
He came and sat next to me
And he said: "Boy, if you don't follow your dreams
You'll be dead someday, just like me"
Then he got up and walked away and I started to think
He turned around, I saw his face and I looked deep in his eyes
And I realized that man was me

You're not for this world, this world is for you
And now is the time
(There's no tomorrow!)
So make the most of every day while you're alive
(Stand for something!)

I contemplate my every day
And everything I've been afraid to change
Never good enough, promptly too late?
Always excuses away
I used to think if I never tried I would never fail
Now I realise, I can do anything

You're not for this world, this world is for you
And now is the time
(There's no tomorrow!)
So make the most of every day while you're alive
(Stand for something!)

Too little too late
And then you die and no one even knows your name
Don't let your light fight from your heart
Your heart gives you the best advice

Believe!
Believe!

You're not for this world, this world is for you
And now is the time
(There's no tomorrow!)
So make the most of every day while you're alive
(Stand for something!)

For what you believe
For what you believe

It's a song about the realization that the world is there for you to enjoy and live in. It's a take-the-bull-by-the-horns thing. It's told through a story based on personal experience, what we have gone through and what we've done that makes us who we are.

Lyric Correction: now istead of "Belive" it is "Bowling." I think it sounds more like bowling.

okay so in this song, he is expressing his love for bowling. He Wakes up having the exreame urge to go bowling. But there is no one to play with, so he decides to make an alter ego of himself to play bowling with. The bowling alley is called "Not for this world," hence the name of the song. In the chorus, he's saying how he can beat anyone in a game of bowling, and that you need to bowl every day for the growth of your liver. But after a serious belly button injury, he is unable to bowl again. So he thinks. He uses the belly button injury as an excuse to not play, so he sits at home getting really fat. In the bridge, he's saying that life sucks, and then you die... Unless you bowl. And that if your heart could talk, it would tell you that you should go bowling. Then, he sais bowling twice, (no need for explanation.) the end.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
