If Nobody Moves Nobody Will Get Hurt (The Extinction) Lyrics
so my nails grew in sharpened.
They kicked out my cane.
It was like I never happened.
Who will look after me
when I'm cursed just like a Kennedy?
as with slogans on sweatshirts.
If nobody moves, nobody will get hurt.
Our chest puffs proudly;
oh, sin the almightly must feed!
We saved face. We stayed calm.
We drilled our air holes,
cashed in our saving bonds.
We licked every nine volt that's inside our fire alarms.
& fingers are callused,
gather hair in a tail, let sun hit your iris.
We're animated meat,
accepting complete,
the infidelity of the body.
Something is coming for me.
It's getting closer. It's getting closer to me.
You can have this.
If it's something you need,
then stretch out your skeletons & grab it.
Just grab it!
Oh, honest to god, he got rid of us easy.
Our limbering bodies that we have to feed,
put to bed, take to the bathroom.
Something is coming for me.
It's getting closer. It's getting closer to me.
& push down our cowlicks,
& tailor our suits,
& suck in our stomachs,
Try to ignore that we're all aboard the titanic.
We gather, we're grooming.
We laugh & you think you feel as you know me,
but know from the start
that's you're flying with Amelia Earhart.
to just plain believe
we are not softened up by the morlocks.
Try to ignore that you'll all aboard the Titanic.
Try to ignore that you'll all aboard the Titanic.

I love the build up of this song.

this is a great song from a great band. this song seems to me to be about how people do all they can to keep themselves looking good and youthful, but that death is an inevitable end for everyone. i love the amemila earhart and titanic references. the lyrics go great with the mood and tone set by the music. wonderful!

these are the correct lyrics
Our chest puffs proudly; oh sin the almighty must feel

the correct lyrics are;
no search party came so my nails grew in sharpened

the correct lyrics are;
no search party came so my nails grew in sharpened

(IMO) This is defiantly about futility. We horde our money, we foster vanity and we fight for our causes. And for what? In the end we all end up in the grave. No one leaves with the same dignity and ideals that they live with in their lifetime; death humbles everyone. This seems to be the underlying tone of the album as well.
My favorite line is, "If it's something you need, then stretch out your skeletons & grab it.

My personal feeling is the whole albums "theme" is the revenge of mother nature on us as humans ruining the earth....some songs seem to speak from the point of view of nature and how no matter what we do, its a "sinking ship, ex: were all aboard the titanic", even with our "slogans on sweatshirts" we cant be saved..... thats what i see anyways...either way, Jon Congleton is a fucking genius!!!

I'm pretty sure the line goes "Our chest puffs proudly; Ascend, the Almighty must fiend". In other words the Almighty must be eager to destroy us for our pride. Also the first line goes "No search party came so my nails grew and sharpened".
