Yeah
(Mýa)
Yeah
I can't explain why I'm feeling for you so bad (are you ready?)
Let's do this
For the first time

It's funny that it seems like yesterday
When we first met up on the stairway
You were so fly (fly), you made me shy away
But unfortunately, I pretended that I could not stay
And now

I don't know what's just come over me but suddenly
I've got the urge to feel your body soakin' wet right next to me
I can't explain why I'm feeling for you so bad
But maybe we'll find out tonight for the first time
(For the first time)

So now you're here (now you're here)
But I don't know what to do (to do)
'Cause it's been so long since we, both me and you
(And you, and you)
Have talked, have kissed (kiss, kiss)
But there's only one person on this earth
I know that I've missed

I don't know what's just come over me, but suddenly
I've got the urge to feel your body (what's come over me?)
Soakin' wet right next to me (so suddenly)
I can't explain why I'm feeling for you so bad
But maybe we'll find out tonight for the first time (tonight)
(For the first time)

Now I know I've always wanted you (always wanted you)
Was too afraid to make a move
Ashamed to let all of my feelings show (feelings show, feelings show)
And when I heard you were coming to town
I hoped that you would come around
I've got some things to say that you should know
But I don't know what's just come
Come over me
But suddenly I've got the urge
Your body, body right next to me, I
I can't explain why I'm feeling
But maybe we'll find out for the first time
(Yeah, the first time, yeah)

I don't know what's just (I don't know)
Come over me but suddenly (what's come over me)
I've got the urge to feel your body (but I've got the urge)
Soakin' wet right next to me
I can't explain why I'm feeling for you so bad (I can't explain)
But maybe we'll find out tonight for the first time
(For the first time)

Why am I feeling this way?
I don't know what's just (I don't know)
Come over me but suddenly (boy, you stay on my mind)
I've got the urge to feel your body (your body, body)
Soakin' wet right next to me
I can't explain why I'm feeling for you so bad
But maybe we'll find out tonight for the first time
(For the first time) mmh, yeah

Yeah, yeah
Your body, body
(For the first time)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
