Little Shadow Lyrics

Patience, shadow
For all your sight there's no sight to see
Little shadow, little shadow
To the night, will you follow me?
Pardon, shadow, hold on tight to your darkened key
Little shadow, little shadow
To the night, will you follow me?

Closer, shadow, for all your strikes
Still we're caught between all this sorrow, little shadow
To the night, will you follow me?
Paler shade inside, deeper deep we dive
Turn and turn the side to our fantasy
Little shadow, to the night will you follow me?

The real lyrics are....

Patience, shadow For all your sight there's no sight to see Little shadow, little shadow To the night, will you follow me? Pardon, shadow, hold on tight to your darkened key Little shadow, little shadow To the night, will you follow me?

Closer, shadow, for all your strikes Still we're caught between all this sorrow, little shadow To the night, will you follow me? Paler shade inside, deeper deep we dive Turn and turn the side to our fantasy Little shadow, to the night will you follow me?

I love this song

It looks like it's about a friend/lover who is with you until the end, and the narrator is showing their appreciation for them.

To the night (to the end) will you follow me (will you stay right next to me)?

the night is the end, because the night will erase a shadow.

pretty self explanatory.

It's such a lovely ending to the album

I feel the same way.

Lullaby song from the perspective of a single mother, or a child born into a difficult situation. "Pardon, shadow, hold on tight to your darkened key" to me means that she is telling this child to use these hardships for his/her advantage. key being a tool that opens doors, and darkened meaning born of hardship. and the usage of the words "little shadows" means to me that the child is a small reflection of her. "Closer, shadow, volume strikes Still we're caught between all this sorrow, little shadow To the night, will you follow me?" It sounds like she is the child's protection "follow me" because ill keep you safe maybe.

Anyways its a beautiful song and it reminds me of my mother. It also makes me think about my son, so i guess it did its job

agreed indeed

"Volume strikes" sounds more like "for all your strides" (also, I think "with all your sight" is "for all your sight")

In the end, I definitely hear something in the place of

"Hey, shadow, stars, break of dawn Take a turn for stars, to my fantasy"

Kind of sounds like this, but I don't know if they're right... but still, maybe someone can make some guesses based on the sounds/syllables here?

Hey shade inside, dig and deeply die [or maybe, "deepened 'til we die", or "diggin' deep, we die"?] Turn and turn your sight to a fantasy [pretty positive about this one]

I do think the end makes a bit more sense this way:

Closer, shadow For all your strides, still, we're caught between All this sorrow, little shadow To the night, will you follow me? Hey, shade inside, [...] Turn and turn your sight to a fantasy Little shadow, to the night, will you follow me? Little shadow, to the night, will you follow me?

fallen might have it perfect... i think "key" might be "keys", "inside to a fantasy" perhaps. And, while the other interpretations are soo sweet, I think it's about a fan she thinks might be stalking her.

second thought, "key" is probably right.

as per fallen1617:

first three lines = fan staring at her/the band for too long during the opening act, from against the wall, "in the shadows" next line = wondering if he is dangerously obsessed next line = common self-defense tactic of using a key in one's fist as a weapon to strike an attacker lines 8-9 = fan moves up near the front of the stage for the performance, where he is struck with someone's camera on the brow, also where she stage dives. final lines = pondering/communicating with his inner world

My first listen to this song made me think of a single mother.

i thought the same thing. or of just a mother and a child in general. it has a lullaby type of quality to it.

That's exactly what I heard too! It's quite beautiful. Definitely a movie soundtrack type song.

I think the end of the lyrics wrong, but i don't know what they actually are...:)

love this song, especially the acoustic version.

It sounds more like a lonely song. Little Shadow = Herself. "Turn and turn the side to our fantasy" Maybe an internal friend that follows her into the night, shares her sorrow, her sight, and they go deeper into fantasy. Maybe that's just how it applies to me, but I see no inclination that there is someone else involved.
