No more lying to myself
Pretending to be someone else
And now I'm hiding how I feel behind a smile
Living in constant self denial

There's something I need to say

No more running from my fights
And no more giving up when I know I'm right
Sick of trying to fit in
And wondering what I could have been

There's something I need to say
It's growing everyday
Things are going to change

[Chorus]
I won't apologize
For who I come to be
'Cause who the hell am I
If I cant be me
I've wasted too much time
On insecurities
'Cause who the hell am I
If I can't be me

No more need to justify
Everything I do, everything I like
and no more blood from biting my tongue
Too afraid to upset anyone

There's something I need to say

No more guilt for what I see
In the mirror staring back at me

There's something I need to say
It's growing everyday
Things are going to change

[Chorus]

And it feels like I am naked
Stripped for you to see
My scars and imperfections
But you never seemed to notice
'Cause you're too busy covering up your cuts and bruises
From who knows what
Just like me

So why apologize
For who I've come to be
'Cause who the hell am I
If I cant be me
I've wasted too much time
On insecurities
'Cause this is who I am
And that's fine with me.

This is truly a great song and really hits home with me and my situation. I felt my stomach turn when I was listening to these lyrics because of how much this affects me in my life. I feel like I'm not living my life because I never let my true self come through... The lyrics "no more hiding how I feel behind a smile" just is so meaningful because I'm sure many people live hiding themselves.

The song is also really motivating to push me to be who I am, for instance "Things are going to change" just gets me going to really want to let people know who I am!! Because on a serious note who really am I, if I can't be me?

truly amazing. that is the definition of me. hiding under all the things everyone wants me to be, so much that i've lost myself somewhere under everything. but the time has come to shed the skin i'll never fit in...

how many others have suffered this?

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
