Umm the two lovers that posted before me are on the right track, sounds like the speaker is missing his signifigant other. It doesn't seem as though shes dead, the beginning of the song tells that he can be with her now. The end of the song brings up the missing aspect further. Great song.

sounds to me like the song is about an improbable love lost.

this website is about connecting people through music just as much as its meaning of songs, if this song makes you think about lost love than so be it. I love this song, its my fave on the CD its so sweet, and the lyrics are so touching i can feel his pain.
