I fall asleep to,
your serenade.
I wake up to,
your saving grace.

I see the sun beam the perfect ray,
I wanna send out a gazillion bouquet.
I hear the chords that resonate,
It's just another,
oh oh, oh ordinary day.
aoooh, aoooh

I look from your eyes,
down to your lips.
I feel it from my toes down to my fingertips.

I see the clouds shake,
A sweet aray
It's just another,
oh oh, oh ordinary day.
aoooh, aoooh, aoooh, aoooh

On sunday afternoon we wake up,
to find that snow has fallen down down

We should put our winter clothes on,
and go walking 'round.

And we can sit there,
beside the hills.
Maybe we'll notice that the world is standing still.
Some things may go and,
some stay the same.
in just another
oh oh, oh ordinary day.
aoooh
oh, oh, oh ordinary day
aoooh
oh, oh, oh ordinary day
aoooh
oh, oh, oh ordinary day
aoooh
oh, oh, oh ordinary day

I must say, I adore this song. The lyrics are so simple, so sweet, so pure, and just perfect, basically. It describes a lovely relationship between two people and it's just very happy sounding. Emilie's voice is wonderful and when she sings this song it puts me in an instant good mood. It's definately one of those songs I'll be listening to whenever I'm feeling down or just feel like a good, relaxing, peaceful song to start out the day to. I love it. :)

    My Opinion

My boyfriend, who also happens to be my best friend, just put this song on a mix cd for me. While we were listening to this song, he said to me, "I know it might seem strange to have this song on here, but when I listen to it, I just think about how in dating you, all the awesome, wonderful things have become a part of my ordinary day. And I love it." To me, that is what this song means. You've found that someone that makes every ordinary day just a little more awesome and wonderful.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
