It gets harder every day, but I can't seem to shake the pain
I'm trying to find the words to say, please say
It's written all over my face, I can't
Function the same when you're not here
I'm calling your name and no one's there
And I hope one day you'll see nobody has it easy,
I still can't believe you found somebody new
But I wish you the best, I guess.
Cause everybody knows, that nobody really knows
How to make it work, or how to ease the hurt
We've heard it all before, that everybody knows
How to make it right, I wish we gave it one more try
One more try
One more try
'Cause everybody knows, but nobody really knows

I don't care what the people say
They brought it all in anyway
Baby don't fill up your head with he-said, she-said
It seems like you just don't know
The radio's on, you tuning me out,
I'm trying to speak, you're turning me down
And I know one day you'll see nobody has it easy,
I still can't believe you found somebody new
But I wish you the best, I guess.
'Cause everybody knows, that nobody really knows
How to make it work, or how to ease the hurt
We've heard it all before, that everybody knows
How to make it right, I wish we gave it one more try
One more try
One more try
One more try
'Cause everybody knows, but nobody really knows

Oh I wish you'd understand
Oh, just an ordinary man
Wish that we'd have known
Everybody knows, but nobody really knows
And I know one day you'll see, nobody has it easy
I still can't believe you found somebody new
I wish you the best, I guess.

'Cause everybody knows, that nobody really knows
How to make it work, or how to ease the hurt
We've heard it all before, that everybody knows
How to make it right, I wish we gave it one more try
One more try
One more try
One more try
'Cause everybody knows, but nobody really knows

    Song Meaning

this song really describes the way you feel after 'it's over'. whether it ended badly, mutually, he royally fuck'd you over, it doesnt matter.. you still stuck in a sorta transition between the past and the present. and everyone including yourself says move forward, forget about it but nobody really understands.

and somehow the 'what if's' seem to haunt us.. 'what if it were different'.. 'what if he still loved you' .. 'what if he wanted you back'.. 'what if he was truly sorry'.. the shitty part is that pride prevents you from ever knowing or listening.

the only thing thats really left for you to do is the inevitable.. move on and wish him all the best. time is a healer.

probably relating this more to myself than of objectively viewing this song but..

i met this girl a few summers ago, we both went away to college, and she ended it due to the distance/another guy..whatever. i always tried to tell myself that it didn't matter, but in reality it really hurt.

i think i'm over it, but there's always something that happens that makes me think what could have been. lame.

more to this song: i think it's about understanding the relationship is over, but even while knowing that, you still have the slightest hope that it'll work itself out.

"I still can't believe you found somebody new but I wish you the best....I guess."

i know exactly how that feels. you want them to be happy, but you know inside of you, you're dying. this song hits the hole in my heart.

I thought that he was kind of saying that nobody knows how to give advice to you because you're the only one feeling what you're feeling. Other people may understand or can try to put themselves in your shoes but when it comes down to it, nobody really knows how to ease your specific hurt. Even if their pain is really similar to yours, it can never be the same so they'll never be able to really "know."

Also, i agree with ayrock on the wishing them the best.."i guess" part. We'd like to be happy for them but we can't when we're not happy for ourselves, inside we'd all like them to beg us back...

    My Interpretation

"Everybody know but nobody really knows" Refers to how everybody knows that two people break up but they don't really know the reasons of how or why.

He seems to not be able to get over the end of a relationship.

"And I hope one day you'll see nobody has it easy" Reminds me of a girl that thinks she is the only one with problems. No matter how hard the guy tries to make it work and talk, she uses her "issues" as a crutch. He resents this, especially after trying so hard to no avail.

She leaves him by following the advice of others. He isn't sure if this is really what she wants, which makes it all the more difficult.

    I've lived this

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
