If you were somebody else, if you were somebody else
If you were somebody else, if you were somebody else
If you were

Nobody sees you when the lights are off
Nobody sees you when the mirror talks, they have everything
They have everything
I'm sinking more in this familiar hole
A little smaller than it was before, they have everything
So perfect and afraid

They say the war is over
I say it's just the start
We have been fighting for so long
To hide the way we are

I wonder aimlessly on to their side
I can relate but can't afford the price, the price I pay
Oh they have everything
Oh will they love you when the lights are on
Oh will they love you when the lights are on
Above everything
I wanna be perfect

They say the war is over
I say it's just the start
We have been fighting for so long
To hide the way we are

Everyone, everyone is the same
Everyone, everyone is so damaged and shamed, jealous and afraid

They say the war is over
They say the war is over
They say the war is over
Everyone, everyone is the same
They say the war is over
Everyone, everyone is the same
They say the war is over
Everyone, everyone is the same
They say the war is over
Everyone, everyone is the same

They say the war is over
I say it's just the start
We have been fighting for so long
To hide the way we are

If you were somebody else, if you somebody else
If you were somebody else, if you somebody else
If you were somebody else

This song is actually about 1984. Everyone is the same in the novel. They're supposed to be the same at least.

"Nobody sees you when the mirror talks" The mirror is the picture that hides the telescreen in the novel. The telescreen that Julia and Winston don't know about until it talks when Julia and Winston were getting very close to their plan on taking down Big Brother. People do see you when the mirror talks...

"I'm sinking more in this familiar hole" The familiar hole is the memories of when Winston was a child and when his mother and sister supposedly died. He tries to remember what it was like before Big Brother came into power. Also, when Winston thinks about this little building(where he and Julia hide out) where he finds a journal and writes in it...

"A little smaller than it was before" it just means that he's getting closer to the memories.. "so perfect and afraid" They're perfect, but they're afraid that the lowest class, I can't remember the right term for them right now, but they're afraid the lower class will rebel and try to take down Big Brother because they have more freedom than the middle class. BigBrother doesn't care about the Lower Class except for the fact that they have the power to overthrow them. But they're too stupid to realize it.

" They say the war is over" The war is over between the classes, but not between the countries.

"I say it's just the start" Winston believes it's time to fight back against Big Brother. He and Julia have to hide themselves... Julia isn't as optimistic as Winston, but she still stays with him. And even though they're sent to Room101, they still remember each other when they're not supposed to. They should not have to be under such control..

This is the most criminally underrated band of all time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
