Die Religion Die Lyrics

I’m sick of all your rules
They're so man-made
You treat them all like fools
You put my name to shame
I’m everything you’re not
I give them love
My ways you have forgot
You put yourselves above

I'll testify!
It’s time to see religion die!
The truth can’t lie!
It’s time to see religion die!
Who cares? Who's right?
It’s time to see religion die!
I'll crush the fight!
It’s time to see religion die!

My church is not inside your building walls
On Sundays you all hide, while the world just falls
Now go into the world and destroy Hell
You have authority, use it for the kill

I'll testify!
It’s time to see religion die!
The truth can’t lie!
It’s time to see religion die!
Who cares? Who's right?
It’s time to see religion die!
I'll crush the fight!
It’s time to see religion die!

Children come away with me
I want you all to be mine
I am taking back what’s mine
And you’ve killed too much time
With pointing all your fingers
At your kids that’s why they’re lost
Try to look deep in their eyes
You will see suicide
Blame it on yourself
Cause no one else will pay your price, your price

Die just, die religion die, just die
Die just, die religion die, just die
Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!
Die! Religion, die! Die! Die! Die!

Do not be afraid
Religion is man-made
Everything is OK
The rules have just been changed

This song is saying that religions that men create keep us away from true religion and a real relationship with Christ. If religion is just something you do on Sunday's or is arbitrary man-made rules, then it is meaningless and keeps us from discovering what religion should be.

I agree whole heartedly. If the spirit isn't behind the movement of the church, and the people there. Then all they are doing is spraying words with no meaning. True religion. There in my opinion is no such thing. Because Jesus said for us to be like him. And our savior was not a religious man, he was a spiritual man. Hence I may not be able to do it exactly how I'm supposed to. But I strive to be like our savior.

You see, God is like the moon, and religion is like a sign pointing to it, but the sign was built so big that it obstructs our view. We aren't supposed to look at the sign, but the moon, but so many of us are staring at the sign, the outside world thinks that the sign is our God, and not the moon it points to. Thus song is about tearing down the sign, and let the moon be the sign.

Nice.

to "poopoomyass". I think the whole " I don't go to church because I hate to get up in the morning" might be covered in the the "dying to self, taking up your cross" scripture. Can't think of where it's at right now but that's what came to mind. I don't think people have to go, but you might want to come up with a new reason for not going.

What do you guys think Brian means by "The rules have just been changed "?

He means that God gave us a set of rules (see Ten Commandments), but the Church has twisted them and added on to them. Basically, humans have mutated it.

He's reassuring someone who is buried in "religion", encouraging them not to fret about what he's saying, that the rules they've grown-up under -- refer song "Re-Bel" -- have been changed, thrown away, cast asunder ... by Christ ... by direct communion to God through Christ and the Spirit within. Pretty big change to "The Rules"

Here is an article that I wrote on my site this morning to further address the issues that I discussed in my post here yesterday....

I just wanted to share it in case anyone is unclear about what I meant.

I agree that "religion is man-made", as the song says. However, so many people who do not really seem to have a relationship with God are calling themselves "spiritual but not religious", all while looking down on the ones who truly do have a relationship with God as the ones who are "religious". This is something that the new agers and apostate, post-modern "Christians" do very often. When they refer to "religion", they apparently mean doctrine - even though the Bible, which is not a religious book, has clearly stated that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Sadly, many in our day who take pride in "not following religion" are often the ones who are under the bondage of religion themselves without even realizing it. The fact that many of them look down on those who have a true relationship with God (with a contempt that sometimes verges on rage!) is proof that they themselves do not have that relationship.

I have felt the same way for soo long! I hate religion but I love Christ. I go to church occasionally but there is so much more to it than that! I hate churches today... the try to push their own agenda with out using scriptures in the right context... it's all about money, drawing a crowd, and a social gathering anymore.

Then don't GO to THAT church. Find another. Not all churches are all prosperity doctrine or money-seeking or crowd-pleasing. BUT, know this: churches DO need money. They're not self-funding. There is a staff to pay for. As for abusing the scriptures, make sure you are in the right and not just bucking God's rider. Just because you don't like the message, doesn't mean it is wrong. Study and know the scripture yourself. Read extensively what theologians have written on every verse, get a few different commentaries, and pray on it. No preacher will ever get it 100%, but you should make sure...

dude this song is amazing. i am so amazed that head chose to follow christ this is like a world wide breakthrough. i pray that head will continue to use his music to influence others so that they will know that God is real and he loves us so much. i pray the rest of korn one day decides to give their lives to christ.
praise Christ Jesus, He who was He who is, and He who will always be God Almighty.

And may he move though other artists that have fallen as far as Korn has May he be a light to the ones that seem to have no hope let him show that through Christ, a man of no faith, can become a truly beautiful person through Jesus Christ May he help plant the seed as men, and women have done before. May god give him the strength to push forward no matter what trials come before him In the name of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, and our God Almighty.
