I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I don't like how her voice is all over the place in this song, it makes her come off as nasal when she hits the high notes, i think she did a better job with Umbrella which I quite liked. I do really like the lyrics and applaud Chris Brown for coming up with a song about mental anguish it seems like Rihanna is falling apart at the seams in the song because shes so paranoid (possibly drug induced) that she sees herself as a monster. I find the sleep paralysis interpretation interesting though, that's really rare isn't it? Its scary to think you could slip into a nightmarish coma (sleep paralysis) or die in your sleep (like sleep apnea, which I have)
