Uh huh, uh huh (yeah, Rihanna)
Uh huh, uh huh (Good Girl Gone Bad)
Uh huh, uh huh (take three, action)
Uh huh, uh huh (Hov)

No clouds in my stones
Let it rain, I hydroplane in the bank
Comin' down like the Dow Jones
When the clouds come, we gone
We Roc-A-Fella
We fly higher than weather
In G5's or better
You know me (you know me)
In anticipation for precipitation stack chips for the rainy day
Jay, Rain Man is back
With Little Ms. Sunshine, Rihanna, where you at?

You have my heart
And we'll never be worlds apart
Maybe in magazines
But you'll still be my star
Baby, 'cause in the dark
You can't see shiny cars
And that's when you need me there
With you I'll always share
Because

When the sun shines, we'll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out to the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh-eh

These fancy things will never come in between
You're part of my entity, here for infinity
When the war has took its part
When the world has dealt its cards
If the hand is hard
Together we'll mend your heart
Because

When the sun shines, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out to the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh-eh

You can run into my arms
It's okay, don't be alarmed
Come into me (there's no distance in between our love)
So gon' and let the rain pour
I'll be all you need and more
Because

When the sun shines, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out to the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh-eh

It's raining, raining
Ooh, baby, it's raining, raining
Baby, come into me
Come into me
It's raining, raining
Ooh, baby, it's raining, raining
You can always come into me
Come into me
It's pouring rain
It's pouring rain
Come into me
Come into me
It's pouring rain
It's pouring rain, come into me

it's obviously (well to me) it's about a friendship between two people that love each other and it's basically a "i have your back and you got mine" sort of thing

but if u look at it as a relationship song cuz of the beginning where she mentions "you had my heart" it can also mean being with your lover till the end.

It's pretty self-explanitory. It's about a committed relationship. She's letting him know that she's going to be there - rain or shine. =]

LOVE this song. It's so catchy.

...... ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh

Honestly, not one person here got it right. Some of you certainly touched on some of the meaning, but for christ sake stop culling a deeper hidden meaning from the artist who brought us "Break it off boy, cause you got me feelin' naughty. I wanna know boy, If I could be your shawty."

She's using the umbrella as a metaphor for support, her sexuality, and more directly, her skirt. Basically, thats it. 'When you're down, come to me and i'll make you feel better by hooking up. We've been friends, and I want you anyways, so let's hook up because that'll make you feel better. I love you, so come on over so we can hook up. You'll feel better because of it.'

Jay-Z opens by explaining situations where you're running into problems (case in point, a falling stock market) and that he needs to hook up with Rihanna because she's a high point ("good girl gone bad"). The video is to emphasize this, its why looking slutty and provocative are in fact perfectly suited to the song.

She repeats ella and eh to subtly imply sex. Like rhythmic moaning. It also takes up space on a vocal track; is catchy albeit annoying; and characteristic of sexual innuendo. At this point, "Baby, come into me." should seem almost literal.

So to summarize, the following lines:

    • Coming down with the Dow Jones
    • Baby cause in the dark You can't see shiny cars And that's when you need me there
    • You can stand under my umbrella
    • When the war has took it's part When the world has dealt it's cards If the hand is hard, together we'll mend your heart
    • Come into me There's no distance in between our love

When life is down, I'll make you feel better and/when we have sex.

Don't believe me? Look at the video again. Then remember this is RIHANNA and not CUMMINGS and when you dance to this song you're GRINDING. I like the song. Really. But defining true love, deep meaning, strong bond: you all can shove it.

    Fucking stupid people.

This song is a prime example of music made just for the f-ing charts. Most lines are forced to rhyme and word choice is half assed. we cant see shiny cars? thats when youll need me there? what the f does that mean? In my opinion, these feelings dont mean anything, but are just made to sound all sad and "dark" because of the effects put on her voice and the heavy beat. I think people just get mesmerized by her little "ella ella eh eh" that she puts in there, cus it seems like thats the only part people seem to remember. I mean, id probably dance to this at a club if i had half a bottle of whisky in me. id definately bounce.

I don't really like rap at all, really, and the reason why I love this song is because of it's lyrics. Any other lyrics, and I'd see it just as another song. But the lyrics to it are beautiful.

I believe it is much more of a song about friendship rather than love/romance.

"May be in magazines But you'll still be my star Baby cause in the dark You can't see shiny cars And that's when you need me there With you I'll always share "

Right there she seems to be implying that even though she's a celebrity and everything, it won't interfere with her friendships.

Catchy song but feeble lyrics, song doesnt make much sence and uses alot of hackneyed phrases

The first verse is like the scribblings of a mental patient:

You have my heart And we'll never be worlds apart ---- Unoriginal/Banal May be in magazines But you'll still be my star------ What?? Baby cause in the dark You can't see shiny cars------- What?? And that's when you need me there With you I'll always share------------Unoriginal/Banal

A masterclass in how not to write songs if you want to be seen a real songwriter

A masterclass in how to write generic soulless pop (might make you money but you'll sell your artistic soul)

    Song Fact

Rihanna was then asked if this song was about proving protection. She replied: "An umbrella is protection, it protects you from rain. The rain in this case is negativeness and vulnerability."

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son ƞansın - ƞarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
