Train Lyrics
Put me on a train momma
Cause things just ain’t the same no more
Put me on a train momma
I’m leaving today
I don’t want to watch the world spinning
I want to be spinning with it
Put me on a train momma
I’m leaving today
I’ve got the feeling that’s for sure
And to know I can get it makes want it more
Mama I just want you to know I’m gonna be fine
Lord I know it’s a chance that I take
But I know you’ll forgive the mistakes I make
There’s a life out there and its gonna be mine
Put me on a train momma
Cause I can’t take this pain no more
Put me on a train momma
I’m leaving today
There’s a world that’s out there waiting
And I know that it’s a chance I’m taking
Put me on a train momma
I’m leaving today
I’ve got the feeling that’s for sure
And to know I can get it makes want it more
Mama I just want you to know I’m gonna be fine
Lord I know it’s a chance that I take
But I know you’ll forgive the mistakes I make
There’s a life out there and its gonna be mine
God knows how long I’ll be gone
But maybe one day this train will bring me home
Put me on a train momma
Put me on a train momma
Put me on a train momma
I’m leaving today
I’ve got the feeling that’s for sure
And to know I can get it makes want it more
Mama I just want you to know I’m gonna be fine
Lord I know it’s a chance that I take
But I know you’ll forgive the mistakes I make
There’s a life out there and its gonna be mine
Put me on a train momma
I’m leaving today

no comments for this great song? well, I just bought the Album today, and I really like it.
and to the meaning... I think this song is about growing up and making his own experience. He also talks about and leaving the home-town ("Put me on a train momma | I’m leaving today | There’s a world that’s out there waiting ), because he feels sick there.
Well, thats just my point of view, but I think its quite ok.
sorry for my worse english, i'm german =)
I agree with sandra, but on the other hand my first impression was a little different and i kinda like to think of this first impression as the real interpretation cause there's a little bit more meaning behind it (at least to me). My first impression was that he (whoever the singer/narrator/artist is) is tired of life as he knows it and wants more outta life so he's joining the military, or possibly some other organized government funded agency, to better himself and serve others. With lyrics like "I know there's a world out there waiting" that may be serving others and "Lord i know it's a chance i'm taking".. this interpretation makes lines like "i know i can make it and only want it more" a little easier to understand along with "i know u'll forgive the mistakes i make", cause with this interpretation he's better himself.. however, there's no direct indication that it's military he's pursuing and leaves it quite open for altercation and controversy..i do not know enough about the band's history to know that..
I also think its about him leaving to go forth into the world.
And Sandra, you're anglish was quite good. Only thing is we would say "sorry for my bad english." instead of worse.
Her anglish was quite good?
surely you mean english :) lol
In my opinion I’ve been listening to this song since I was 12 and its always meant the same thing to me: Basically he’s poor as a beginning rock star but he’s leaving his home town on a train, leaving his Mom behind to chase his dreams. He’s talking in past tense with “it’s been a long time” so at the time of writing the song he’s already “made it”. It’s a motivating song to me about him taking a huge chance to be successful but it clearly works out for him.
